Events Manager (FTC)

This is a fixed term contract through until 31st December 2026.

This role is part of our eBay Inhouse team, where you will be employed by DEPT® but embedded within eBay.

JOB PURPOSE

We're looking for an Event Manager to join our marketing team. In this role, you'll be instrumental in developing and delivering engaging event initiatives that inspire, engage and delight our buyers. The role requires someone with extensive events experience delivering at exhibitions, festivals and various other consumer events on behalf of our brand. Working closely with both internal teams and external partners, you'll ensure our events directly support eBay's strategic objectives 

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Project Management & Stakeholder Liaison: Oversee all event initiatives from conception to completion, ensuring seamless coordination across internal teams and external partners. Act as the primary point of contact for key stakeholders for event logistics, managing communications and aligning expectations.
  • Event & Hub Strategy: Support the Events Lead to develop the overall event strategy for buyer acquisition; lead the Activation BuildHub design and build execution.
  • Event production and logistics such as, bump-in and bump-out plans, floor plans, staffing, team travel etc
  • Agency & Vendor: Manage the partner agency for activation, including design and execution. Along with event organisers

WHAT YOU BRING:

  • 3-5 years of experience in end-to-end event planning and execution, ideally within a corporate or brand environment. 
  • Experience with large-scale activations, multi-city events, and managing external agencies.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex logistics, including floor plans, bump-in/bump-out, merchandise inventory, storage, and staff rostering across multiple locations 
  • Experience in effectively sourcing, negotiating with, and managing a diverse range of vendors and agencies (e.g., design, build, staffing).
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, track expenses, and work efficiently within financial constraints.
  • Experience in liaising with various stakeholders, including internal teams, external partners, speakers, and guests.
  • Strong ability to create and adhere to detailed timelines, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and ensure all deliverables are met on schedule.
