
Principal, Solutions Consultant
About the Role:
The Principal, Solutions Consulting, is a member of the Solutions and Growth group. This group is responsible for supporting various pre-sales activity and in project delivery of solutions consulting engagements. The group will work closely with the Solutions Design group for developing the requirements and concepts for various types of DC design and Supply Chain projects. This role will report to the Vice President of Solutions.
About the Team:
The Solutions Consulting Group at DCS is responsible for developing and delivering a wide range of consulting engagements across multiple industries and verticals. This team will engage in projects ranging from DC design to Operations Improvements, Assessments, and System Evaluations.
In this role, you will:
- Serve as key customer SME during system evaluations working closely with internal and external teams to drive value in the customer related objectives.
- Provide system and solutions feedback (assist in guiding the client with best practices and system optimization) for all types sortation designs including bulk flow and high speed singulated sortation.
- Work with automation suppliers (i.e., AMR, robotics, and other advanced technologies) to integrate these technologies into Customer concept solutions Provide guidance related to strategic data analytics utilizing large, detailed data sets in areas such as slotting, item affinity analysis, storage requirements, inventory optimization, order picking comparisons, labor analysis, work standards, and process/system optimizations.
- Give client facing presentations of findings, recommendations, and best practices for appropriate solutions
- Develop proposals and scope of work documents for both existing clients and potential sales leads
- Provide opportunity scoping to identify the Customer problems, statement of work definitions, and assist in establishing the opportunity deliverables. Assist in the develop final project delivery documents for various supply chain consulting engagements
- Effectively plan sales strategies with the account teams.
- Identify and document account relationships and key individuals.
- Work as a leader within the Sales and Pre-Contract team to guide the solution while advocating for the voice of the customer.
- Gather client feedback and suggests new services or suggest improvements to existing services
- Travel onsite as needed for project activities (25-60%)
- All other activities as assigned
We’re Excited About You Because:
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or similar
- 20+ years full time experience working in supply chain related industries
- Function as an expert on Solutions Consulting – specific, specialized tasks effectively using the necessary process, tools and operational processes and coach others to maximize usage.
- Develop and review statements of work related to consulting opportunities.
- Proficient with Power BI, MS Access, Excel, Power Point, Visio, Project
- Good communication skills, both written and oral
- Demonstrated ability to deliver presentations to clients and/or industry conferences
- Ability to lead and train other team members
