Data Engineer
*This position must be based in the Seattle area.

The technology practice at Designit is looking for a Data Engineer to help drive meaningful changes through the use of data for a large enterprise client.
As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for gathering data from various sources, ensuring its accuracy and completeness. You will integrate data from different sources into a unified system and transform raw data into a usable format for analysis. Your role will involve storing data in databases or data warehouses for easy access and retrieval, analyzing data to identify trends, patterns, and insights, and generating reports and visualizations to communicate findings to stakeholders. Additionally, you will implement security measures to protect data from unauthorized access and breaches, and monitor the performance of data systems, making improvements as needed.
The ideal candidate is both collaborative and assertive, has strong communication skills, patience, logical thinking, and strong attention to details. This person is a great problem-solving and tactful critic, understanding how to improve the program and identify weak points without demotivating or confusing teammates.

- Maintain data pipelines, ensuring all data connections are functioning correctly and efficiently
- Manage and oversee the Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes to ensure accurate and timely data integration
- Optimize queries to improve performance and reduce processing time
- Identify and incorporate machine learning/AI solutions to streamline processes and improve data quality.
- Develop and maintain stored procedures to automate repetitive tasks and ensure data consistency
- Manage databases to ensure they are up-to-date and function correctly
- Update existing data tables and create new ones as required by the business
- Establish connections to new or updated data sources as needed
- Lead the migration of a data infrastructure to a cloud solution and integrate with MSFT Fabric
- Ensure compliance with all applicable internal and external data management requirements
We would like you to have....
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency in SQL and database management.
- Experience with ETL processes and tools.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Familiarity with data warehousing solutions like Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery.
- Understanding of data modeling and schema design.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Matplotlib, Seaborn.
- Experience with big data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, or Kafka.
- Knowledge of data governance and security practices.
- Willingness to visit client site for meetings 1-2 times per month

Compensation: $100,000 - $105,000
This compensation range is indicative of the role. Compensation offered is on the basis of evaluation during interview process, the candidates range and depth of experience, business and market financials and internal pay parity.
