Who are we?

We are a haircare/styling start-up company based in Montreal with a lot to do and we are looking for a special someone to join are amazing team! Our brand has over 235k followers online, an e-commerce platform & a vast professional distribution across North America and internationally. We are looking for a passionate and motivated intern to assist our product development coordinator with daily tasks, coordinating projects and bringing ideas to life! 

 

What will your day-to-day look like?

We’re looking for the coolest intern who loves the beauty industry and wants to hone in their marketing and product development skills.  You’re a collaborator by nature with great communication skills and you can work across departments; you’re self-professed in power point and you love being detailed oriented.  You will be part of the marketing team and you will mainly support the product development side of the business regarding innovation.  

 

Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Product Development & Product Marketing intern to join our marketing team. The ideal candidate will assist in the development and coordination ofproduct launches for our product lines. This role requires a blend of creativity, organizational skills, and an understanding of market trends to ensure successful product positioning and promotion. 

 

What will your tasks look like on the research and development side:

Market Research and Analysis:

  • Conduct market research to identify haircare trends, consumer preferences, and emerging technologies in the hair care industry. 
  • Analyze competitor products and identify gaps in the market. 

Product Conceptualization:

  • Brainstorm and generate new product ideas based on market research findings. 
  • Collaborate with the product development team to refine product concepts. 

Coordination and Formulation/Testing:

  • Create project timelines and milestones for product development. 
  • Work closely with the product development team to create product formulation and identify formula goals based on defined specifications. 

Prototype and Sample Management:

  • Coordinate the production samples for internal testing and consumer trials. 
  • Evaluate prototypes for further development. 
  • Maintain detailed records of product development progress, including formulation iterations, testing results, and supplier communications. 

Post-Launch Monitoring:

  • Monitor existing product performance in the market and gather customer feedback (if applicable). 
  • Analyze sales data and consumer reviews to identify areas for improvement. 

Continuous Improvement:

  • Continuously research and stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies. 
  • Seek opportunities for product enhancement or expansion based on market feedback, competitive analysis, etc. 
  • Investigate sustainability initiatives.  

 

What will your tasks look like on the product marketing side:

Product Coordination:

  • Collaborate with the product development team to ensure alignment of marketing strategies with product features and benefits. 
  • Source and develop custom branded goods/accessories while working closely with the design team 
  • Coordinate timelines and samples for branded goods 

Market Research & Analysis:

  • Conduct market research to identify consumer trends, competitive landscape, and opportunities for product differentiation. 
  • Analyze sales data and marketing performance metrics to provide insights and recommendations for improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Currently studying or have completed a bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.   
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with marketing software and tools. 
  • Creative mindset with a keen eye for detail and a passion for the hair care industry. 
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
