About the role:

We are seeking two highly organized and detail-oriented Project Coordinators to support our Destination Development team. Reporting to a Senior Director, Destination Development, you’ll have the important role of supporting the team to ensure we deliver on our projects and initiatives. The Destination Development team has the inspiring role of working to create thriving and resilient destinations in Canada. Potential projects include the corridor development program, supporting investment attraction, building partnerships to grow the visitor economy and intentional destination development across Canada.

Key accountabilities

  • Works across the Destination Development team to coordinate the business unit’s deliverables. Collaboratively builds project schedules, coordinates resources, vendors, information, and acts as a point of contact to communicates project statuses, including the creation of high-quality presentations and maintains project documentation and plans.
  • Coordinates various projects/parts of projects, including project planning, ensuring deadlines are met, and that there is a common understanding of the project objectives among teams.
  • Supports the Senior Director, and the Destination Development team in executing various project deliverables, process, and activities. Assists in eliminating project blockers.
  • Coordinates project-related meetings and webinars, including scheduling, agenda preparation, presentation development, and meeting minutes.
  • Finds, curates, and coordinates the publication of content on Destination Development platforms, working closely with the team and other DC business units.
  • Leads vendor management processes for the Destination Development team, including liaising with the internal DC teams to update rosters, develop contracts, and conduct evaluations.
  • Prepares, proofreads, and edits written work, summaries of projects and presentations.
  • Provides administrative and coordination support to the Senior Vice-President of Destination Development in a limited capacity.
  • Performs other related duties as requested

What you need

  • Graduation from a recognized university with a degree in business, project management or another specialty relevant to the position, or another combination of education, training and experience acceptable to DC.
  • 2 years or more of relevant experience in a project management/coordination role.  
  • Experience in documentation, prioritizing, and multitasking of projects, tasks, and meetings.
  • Knowledge of project management practices, tools and software
  • Advanced knowledge and demonstrated skills with MS Office Suite including advanced proficiency with PowerPoint
  • Project management skills.
  • Extensive prioritization, time management, multi-tasking, and organizational skills.
  • Research and analytical abilities, with the capacity to interpret data and reports and provide clear summaries.
  • Ability to remain efficient, adaptable, and supportive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with highly developed follow-up skills.
  • Demonstrated drive. Self-motivated to take initiative; proactive and results oriented.
  • Able to meet tight deadlines with a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Excellent verbal, listening and written communication skills.
  • Solid organizational and multi-tasking skills with a focus on prioritization.

It would be great if you also had

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or other formal education in project management
  • Knowledge of the tourism industry and/or destination development

Compensation

Salary range: $63,707 - $79,633

Within the range, the base pay offered is determined by multiple factors, including job-related skills and relevant education/experience. Please note starting salaries for new hires typically fall between the minimum and mid-point of the range, to support internal equity and allow room for progression as employees grow and excel in their roles. The range above reflects base pay only and does not include the competitive at-risk pay program and benefits that we offer!

Things you should know:

  • This role follows a hybrid work arrangement, where work is performed onsite at least 2-3 days per week. Please note the work arrangement is subject to change.
  • This is a three-year term role, with a fixed end date.
