About the role:

Working with their manager, this role contributes to the development of annual strategic marketing plans.

The incumbent develops annual tactical plans that will fulfill the strategy and objectives for their respective market(s), working in collaboration with teams across the organization. The incumbent will also work with the research/data & analytics teams to ensure market research data is integrated into and informs the marketing tactics and KPIs.

The incumbent project manages the execution of tactical plans and global marketing programs, ensuring activities and campaigns are delivered on budget, within established timeframes, and obtain target KPIs.

The marketing plans developed and implemented are cross-channel, multi-channel marketing plans that include multiple types of media -- paid, earned (media relations & PR), trade, and owned (website and social). The incumbent must ensure these various components are integrated, including ensuring content, editorial, creative, and media plans support the market plan and objectives. This requires significant collaboration across departments, working closely with content and media teams as well as external agencies and in-market teams. This role will need to coordinate activities through a cross-functional team of specialists and manage day-to-day activities and decisions. This requires interpersonal skill such as leadership, influence, diplomacy and negotiation.

Additionally, this role must ensure consumer marketing plans and tactics integrate with B2C strategies and tactics, whether travel trade or business events, if applicable. The incumbent will support travel trade initiatives and may participate in trade and media events as required.

The incumbent is the decision-making authority for projects within approved tactical marketing plans. Informs and consults with manager and escalates significant issues and decisions that vary from plans as needed. Recommends changes to improve and optimize campaigns throughout execution.

Key accountabilities

  • Contributes to the development of strategic marketing plans across one or more markets
  • Leads the development of tactical plans to achieve market strategy objectives
  • Leads a cross-functional team to manage the execution of multi-channel marketing tactics and programs
  • Reports on performance, provides recommendations and implements adjustments and results to partners.
  • Leads supplier and agency management for the market(s)
  • Leads partner engagement and collaboration for the market(s)

What you need

  • Undergraduate education in Marketing (or other related field) or equivalent training and experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in marketing/communications
  • Experience developing and implementing strategic marketing plans
  • Experience managing integrated cross-channel marketing campaigns
  • Experience in the Canadian tourism industry is an asset
  • Knowledge of marketing and communications principles and practices
  • Knowledge of diverse marketing channels, including paid media, content marketing, media/public relations
  • Knowledge of agency models for marketing, branding, strategy, design and media buying
  • Knowledge of the latest marketing tactics and technology
  • Knowledge of the Canadian tourism industry is an asset

Compensation

Salary range: $91,959 - $114,948

Within the range, the base pay offered is determined by multiple factors, including job-related skills and relevant education/experience. Please note starting salaries for new hires typically fall between the minimum and mid-point of the range, to support internal equity and allow room for progression as employees grow and excel in their roles. The range above reflects base pay only and does not include the competitive at-risk pay program and benefits that we offer!
