About the role:
Reporting to the Creative Production Manager (the “Manager”), the Video Editor is responsible for producing high-quality video content that advances Destination Canada’s strategic business goals by supporting corporate and consumer marketing and communications initiatives. This role focuses on in-house video editing, ensuring efficiency, nimbleness, and consistency in content creation. The Video Editor will work closely with internal teams to develop engaging visual assets and maintain brand storytelling integrity across various digital platforms.
Key accountabilities
Video Editing & Post-Production:
- Work with the various internal teams to create engaging video series, highlight reels, and promotional assets.
- Edit and produce high-quality video content for owned social media channels (YouTube, etc.), B-roll compilations, corporate storytelling, and marketing toolkits.
- Assemble raw footage, apply color correction, audio adjustments, and motion graphics as needed.
- Optimize video content for various platforms, ensuring consistency and adherence to brand guidelines.
Content & Asset Management:
- Compile and organize B-roll footage for Brand Canada Library and other stakeholders.
- Maintain and manage Destination Canada’s digital video assets, ensuring accessibility and organization within the asset management system.
Workflow Optimization & Collaboration:
- Streamline in-house editing workflows for efficiency and scalability.
- Collaborate with internal teams to align video content with brand messaging and strategic objectives.
- Provide creative input on video projects, ensuring alignment with campaign goals and audience engagement.
What you need
- Degree or certificate in video or film production; and/or a degree in marketing; or a similar combination of education and relevant work experience.
- 3+ years of experience working in video production or in creative agency production teams.
- 3+ years of experience managing projects with stakeholders.
- Experience with digital asset management would be valuable.
- Strong knowledge of video editing within the creative production process and best practices.
- Ability to manage a creative production from brief, to ideation, execution, and wrap.
- A demonstrated passion for creative storytelling and innovation in video production.
- A strong sense of ownership and the ability to influence creative outcomes without direct authority.
- Ability to manage multiple high-profile production projects simultaneously and prioritize competing demands.
- Strong communication and writing skills for a variety of audiences.
- Strong project management skills.
- Ability to work independently and make informed editing decisions that align with brand goals.
- Ability to work under pressure, thrive in fast-paced environments, and think on your feet.
- Problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage critical project opportunities and risks, mitigate issues, dependencies, and scope changes.
- Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with stakeholders across teams.

Compensation
Salary range: $72,177 - $90,221
Within the range, the base pay offered is determined by multiple factors, including job-related skills and relevant education/experience. Please note starting salaries for new hires typically fall between the minimum and mid-point of the range, to support internal equity and allow room for progression as employees grow and excel in their roles. The range above reflects base pay only and does not include the competitive at-risk pay program and benefits that we offer!

Things you should know:
- This role follows a hybrid work arrangement, where work is performed onsite at least 2-3 days per week. Please note the work arrangement is subject to change.
- This is an eight-month term role, with a fixed end date.
