What You’ll Do:

  • Design and build search tools that quickly retrieve relevant information from vast amounts of data using technologies like Elasticsearch.
  • Develop recommendation systems that suggest relevant products, features, or content based on user behavior and preferences.
  • Build and maintain APIs and connectors to seamlessly integrate search and recommendation functionalities into the broader platform.
  • Optimize data indexing, query performance, and relevance ranking to ensure fast and accurate results.
  • Architect and implement distributed systems capable of handling large-scale, multi-tenant environments.
  • Collaborate with product, AI, and infrastructure teams to align system capabilities with business goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of scalable and low-latency search and recommendation systems using OpenSearch and vector search.
  • Lead ML and GenAI integrations into production. 
  • Drive agent platform capabilities.
  • Oversee fine-tuning pipelines and model evaluation infrastructure to improve performance across domains.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally across product, infra, and ML teams to drive platform-wide intelligence initiatives.
  • Establish technical direction, mentor engineers, and build frameworks that scale with multi-tenant workloads.

Requirements

  • 7+ years in backend, search, or ML infrastructure; deep experience with OpenSearch/Elasticsearch and distributed systems.
  • Strong programming in Go, Python, or Java; expertise in data pipelines, vector stores, and model-serving frameworks.
  • Familiarity with retrieval-augmented generation, LLM-based workflows, or agent systems is highly valued.
  • Proven experience building high-scale systems and driving technical leadership across teams.
  • Passion for deeply technical work that bridges infra, ML, and product innovation
