Dev Technology Group seeks talented rising juniors and seniors for our Summer 2026 Internship Program. Interns will be based out of our headquarters in Reston, Virginia. This is an excellent opportunity for those seeking professional experience in software development, sysadmin, DevOps, or a related field.
What You'll Be Doing
As a SharePoint & Power Platform Intern, you will gain real-world experience with SharePoint, Microsoft Power Platform, and Agile software development while collaborating with federal clients, developers, and Dev Technology stakeholders. This is a hands-on opportunity to build solutions, learn best practices, and contribute meaningfully to mission-critical systems.
- Provide Tier 2 support for SharePoint collaboration issues escalated by the customer support team.
- Assist users with creating and managing SharePoint sites, lists, views, permissions, libraries, docsets, and web parts.
- Design and implement low-code/no-code automation solutions using Power Automate and out-of-the-box SharePoint tools.
- Support development of custom forms using Power Apps, or other CFTC-supported technologies.
- Maintain internal knowledge bases and how-to guides, including site owner wikis and documentation.
- Attend and contribute to Agile Scrum ceremonies (e.g., stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives).
- Collaborate with interns and senior staff on a technical group project, culminating in a final presentation to leadership.
- Gain exposure to architectural principles like test-driven development (TDD), business-driven development (BDD), and domain-driven design.
- Participate in root-cause analysis and lean-agile investigation methods for issue resolution.
- Write and maintain both technical and end-user documentation for developed solutions.
- Learn about Microsoft 365 tools, Azure services, and their role in federal IT modernization.
- Work with stakeholders to gather requirements and identify opportunities for automation and improved business workflows.
Required Skills and Experience
- Rising junior or senior pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 services like SharePoint Online, Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and Microsoft Teams
- Basic experience or coursework in programming (e.g., Java, Python, or other object-oriented languages)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Demonstrated interest in technology, systems thinking, or digital business transformation
- Ability to follow through on assignments, ask questions, and learn independently when needed
- Comfortable reading and interpreting existing code (with guidance from mentors)
- Able to commute to the Reston, VA office 1–2 times per week
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Rising senior strongly preferred
- Exposure to SharePoint Online and/or Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI)
- Experience building simple workflows or forms with Power Platform
- Passion for full-stack development, system design, or business intelligence
- Interest in supporting a mission-critical federal government contract
