THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for a talented 3D Web Designer to lead the visual design and front-end experience for the Sphere Technology website. This is not a standard web design role, we want someone who thinks in three dimensions and can bring premium, immersive web experiences to life using the latest 3D web technologies. You will own the visual identity of our digital presence, collaborating closely with the product and development team to ship experiences that are both breathtaking and performant.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design and build immersive 3D web experiences using Three.js, WebGL, or comparable libraries
• Lead the visual design direction for the Sphere Technology website from wireframe through production
• Create interactive 3D animations, scroll-driven sequences, and particle systems that align with brand identity
• Collaborate with developers to ensure seamless integration of 3D assets into the web environment
• Optimize 3D scenes and assets for performance across desktop and mobile devices
• Translate brand guidelines into compelling spatial and visual design language
• Produce motion design, micro-interactions, and transition sequences that elevate user experience
• Maintain design consistency across all Sphere digital touchpoints
• Stay current with emerging trends in WebGL, immersive web, and 3D design tooling
• Contribute to the design system and component library

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 3+ years of experience in web design with a strong 3D/WebGL portfolio
• Proficiency in Three.js, WebGL, GLSL shaders, or similar 3D web technologies
• Strong command of Figma for UX/UI design and prototyping
• Experience with 3D modeling and animation tools (Blender, Cinema 4D, or equivalent)
• Solid understanding of HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (React preferred)
• Demonstrated ability to optimize 3D assets for web performance (LOD, texture compression, lazy loading)
• Strong visual design sensibility — typography, color, layout, and spatial composition
• Portfolio showcasing live 3D web projects (links required with application)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with GSAP, Lenis, or Locomotive Scroll for scroll-driven animation
• Familiarity with R3F (React Three Fiber) and Drei
• Background in motion graphics or visual effects
• Experience designing for healthcare, luxury, or premium consumer brands
• Knowledge of WebXR or AR/VR web experiences
• Exposure to Spline, Rive, or similar no-code 3D design platforms
