Senior Media Planner

We’re looking for a talented Media Sales Lead who is an expert in their clients and passionate about selling our media offering.

This is an exciting opportunity to drive real long-term value for Tesco in the market, CPGs and dunnhumby leveraging data and media assets. 

Focusing on selling to Strategic Partner Clients and enabling new revenue opportunities for dunnhumby, you will be a key contributor to our strong commercial expansion plans.

You will have direct accountability - as well as supporting the Media Sales Manager - on strategic sales plans with key clients and will be tasked with exploring and closing new commercial roads with new partners in the market.

Taking a consultative approach, you will be accountable for meeting and exceeding targets through offering the retailer media solutions across desktop, mobile, CRM & stores to leading CPGs. To deliver quality work that meets the client’s needs and addresses their business problems, driving revenue and long-term sustainable commercial growth. To play a leading and inspiring role within the wider media business and regularly drive pitches and sales discussions, approaching these with both a customer first and commercial mindset. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Drive revenue for the Tesco Media in the market by creating strong relationships with CPG client and agency partners, supporting effective strategy and action plans.
  • Pitch confidently, presenting proposals/business cases to clients at a senior level.
  • Activate new collaborations with agencies, CPGs brand budgets owners. 
  • Create and drive client vision with key senior stakeholders within a client’s roster (Retailer teams, Brand, Digital, Loyalty, Shopper Marketing) to create deeper partnerships and opportunities.
  • Passionately advocate and model the delivery of first-class customer service to your client base, holding yourself to the highest standards.
  • Collaborate with other teams to proactively provide thought leadership into your client and targets through a detailed awareness of relevant market trends affecting their business, and developments in the wider advertising and communications industry.
  • Acting with a motivational and inspirational attitude; collaborate with colleagues in your team, always driving forwards and seeking growth opportunities.

 

What we expect from you

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in any subject
  • +5 years of sales experience ideally selling multichannel media advertisement / media consulting/ media tech to brands or media agencies.
  • Media Agency background or very good knowledge of the media landscape, major players, and different client operating models
  • Strong track record of high-level negotiation and successful internal and external relationship management
  • Confident communicator and presenter, comfortable in fast-paced environments and changing situations
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and own client relationships
  • Demonstrated ability to develop a strong sales pipeline, forecast accurately and achieve challenging quarterly and annual targets
  • Results-driven, self-motivated and highly goal-oriented in order to achieve ambitious targets.
  • A consultative style with the ability to understand clients’ business needs and position solutions in a timely and personalised way
  • Ability to work in a fast-moving company and be adaptable to change
  • A breadth of sales/account management experience
  • A team player with the ability to collaborate with internal departments and teams
  • Native speaker market language and fluent English.
