Specialist, Public Policy and Communications
Your role as Specialist, Public Policy and Communications
Reporting to Jean-Christophe de Le Rue, Senior Director, Public Policy and Communications, the role of the Specialist, Public Policy and Communications is to coordinate media relations, news monitoring, internal communications and support government relations.
What you’ll be doing:
- Preparing and organizing internal communications, such as corporate announcements
- Coordinating key public relations initiatives in Canada
- Supporting the team with government relations, including document drafting, representing the company with the government, and overall strategy execution
- Responding to requests for information from the media and working with internal spokespeople
- Helping prepare and conduct the company-wide updates, including content and in-office logistics
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
- 1-3 years of experience in public relations
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Strong project management skills with the ability to multitask
- A passion for news, current events, and communications
- Experience supporting speaker preparation for events and media interviews
- Ability to develop and execute communication plans for announcements, pitches, and reports
- Strong relationship-building skills and a focus on team success
- Tech-savviness, with experience in media monitoring software, Zoom, iMovie, Microsoft Suite, and Google Suite (asset)
- A solid understanding of politics and government
