Sr. Software Engineer (Integrations)

Bengaluru, India

About Dialpad
Dialpad is the AI platform for customer experience, built to resolve customer problems in real time across voice and digital. Our AI agents learn from your best human agents and improve with every interaction, helping organizations understand their customers, deliver better experiences, increase operational efficiencies, and build a lasting competitive advantage.

Unlike legacy systems built to route and answer, or standalone agentic bot vendors built to deflect, Dialpad was built to resolve. Our AI agents and human agents operate on a single platform with shared context, allowing Agentic AI to resolve issues, advance deals, and eliminate busywork through automation while seamlessly handing conversations to humans when needed, with full context preserved.

Market-leading brands, including Randstad, Motorola Solutions, Netflix, the San Diego Padres, the Colorado Rockies Baseball Club, and Cal Athletics, trust Dialpad. Dialpad is backed by Andreessen Horowitz, GV, ICONIQ Capital, and T-Mobile.

Being a Dialer
At Dialpad, AI isn’t just a feature; it’s how our teams do their best work every day. We put powerful AI tools in every employee’s hands so they can move faster, think bigger, and achieve more.

We believe every conversation matters. And we’ve built the platform that turns those conversations into insight and action, for our customers and ourselves.

We look for people who are intensely curious and hold themselves to a high bar. Our ambition is significant, and achieving it requires a team that operates at the highest level. We seek individuals who embody our core traits: Scrappy, Curious, Optimistic, Persistent, and Empathetic.

Your role
As a Sr. Software Engineer on the Integrations team, you will lead the design and development of Dialpad’s key native integrations. These integrations enable real-time automation and data transfer between Dialpad and complementary systems, ensuring our mutual customers have a seamless, unified experience. This includes Agentic AI-compatible integrations, CRMs, ticketing systems, workforce management platforms, and industry-specific verticals such as recruiting, retail, and healthcare.

You will own a functional area or set of related features within Integrations, translating customer and business needs into robust technical solutions. You will help shape the 6-12 month technical direction for your area, break down larger projects into clear deliverables, and solve classes of problems through shared tools, patterns, and processes.

You’ll collaborate closely with engineering teammates, product leaders, business leaders, Dialpad customers, and external stakeholders. You will be expected to operate with little guidance, make pragmatic business and technical tradeoffs, and mentor other engineers through design, implementation, code review, debugging, and production support.

This position reports to our Engineering Manager and has the opportunity to be based in our Bangalore office. The position will require a hybrid working arrangement based out of our Bangalore office.

What you’ll do

  • Own the technical design, development, maintenance, and reliability of key native integrations across Dialpad’s Integrations platform.
  • Build and enhance integrations with systems such as Zendesk, HubSpot, AthenaHealth, Salesforce, Microsoft Teams, Google Workspace, and other customer-critical SaaS platforms.
  • Lead the delivery of Agentic AI-compatible integrations that help customers automate workflows and connect Dialpad actions with external systems.
  • Write architectural design and specification documents that clearly describe implementation options, tradeoffs, dependencies, risks, rollout plans, and success metrics.
  • Develop backend services, APIs, workers, webhooks, data transfer flows, UI components, and automation workflows that scale across a large customer base.
  • Break down larger projects into smaller deliverables and take responsibility for execution, delivery milestones, and the end-to-end result.
  • Develop well-tested features with appropriate test hooks, monitoring, and alerting, resulting in low defect reports and healthier customer scenarios.
  • Design for performance, reliability, debuggability, extensibility, security, privacy, and operational simplicity.
  • Debug complex production issues across Dialpad services and third-party platforms, then turn those learnings into durable fixes and better team processes.
  • Write clean, modular, and maintainable code using best practices along with unit tests.
  • Participate in code and design reviews to ensure quality, maintainability, and scalability.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers.
  • Assist with emerging Agentic AI technologies and initiatives.
  • Tech Stack: Python, Vue.js, Redis, Google Cloud, AI (MCP).

Skills you’ll bring

  • 7+ years of professional experience as a software engineer, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience owning significant backend, full-stack, platform, or integration systems in production, including design, implementation, launch, monitoring, and maintenance.
  • Experience with at least one object-oriented programming language, especially Python or JavaScript.
  • Experience building integrations, APIs, webhooks, event-driven systems, distributed systems, or customer-facing platform features.
  • Strong testing, debugging, and troubleshooting skills, especially across distributed systems and third-party platform boundaries.
  • Experience with OAuth, permission models, API rate limits, webhooks, event delivery, retries, idempotency, and third-party platform constraints.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies.
  • Effective communication skills, including writing design documents, surfacing risks early, and keeping stakeholders aligned.
  • Collaborative team player who can work independently and autonomously when needed.
  • Ability to evaluate multiple technical approaches and explain tradeoffs clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Pragmatic approach to solving problems while balancing customer impact, engineering quality, delivery timelines, and business goals.
  • Experience mentoring engineers and raising the quality bar for a team.
  • Agentic AI experience or strong interest in building AI-compatible product workflows.
  • Usage of AI coding assistants such as Claude, Gemini, or similar tools for the majority of coding tasks.

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 07/31/2029

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
