Project Lead Technician (OKC)

Oklahoma City, OK

Company Overview

Digi Security Systems is an industry leader in the design, installation and support of custom video surveillance, electronic access control, and intrusion detection solutions for public and private partners. We’ve built our reputation on innovation and reliable service, and we’re known as the industry’s experts.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Project Lead Technician to join our operations in the Oklahoma City area. Rate of pay is dependent on experience. The Project Lead’s mission is simple: make it happen on the ground. While the Project Manager owns the overall plan and the Field Superintendent owns the work plan and field oversight, the Project Lead owns day-to-day execution and the job site. This person drives daily installation progress, leads the installation team, and serves as Digi’s face in front of the partner on-site.

This role takes technical depth and leadership presence in equal measure. The Project Lead sets the bar the rest of the team installs to, and the bar the partner experiences. What gets built well in Digi’s name starts here. The Project Lead reports to the Project Manager, with a dotted line to the Field Superintendent for day-to-day field direction, and may be assigned to cover Field Superintendent duties on a project. This individual must have a strong background in installing, servicing, and programming Access Control, CCTV, and Burglary/Intrusion Alarm Systems and at least five (5) years of experience in the commercial security systems field.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Daily Execution & Planning: Own day-to-day execution on the job site. Set and communicate daily installation goals with the team, the Project Manager, and the Field Superintendent. MUST understand and adhere to project timelines, keeping labor hours within 10% of budgeted hours.
  • Inventory Management: Receive and track project equipment from the branch Inventory Coordinator, and ensure equipment and materials on partner job sites are accounted for at all times.
  • Installation: Responsible for the professional installation of cabling, access control components, CCTV systems, and motion/intrusion/alarm systems. Set the installation standard for the team by example and hold every technician accountable to it, delivering work that holds up, with rework tickets within 60 days of completion kept under 5% for the team.
  • Programming: Ensure project systems are programmed to the highest standard and organized to work well for the partner.
  • Safety: Lead a culture of zero reportable safety incidents. File a Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) for every job and ensure all safety requirements are met by the team. Ensure the project site is cleaned and secured each day before closing work.
  • Leadership: Provide on-the-job training and mentoring to technicians on the team, bringing both technical depth and leadership presence to the site every day.
  • Partner Experience: Serve as Digi’s on-site representative. Respectfully communicate with local partner staff on daily progress and all necessary information, delivering an experience that earns partner satisfaction scores of 4.8 out of 5 or higher.
  • Communication: Update the Project Manager daily on project progress, including revenue goals, labor hours, and any issues affecting schedule or budget. Coordinate field direction with the Field Superintendent.
  • Documentation: Complete daily and project close-out documentation on the same day the work is done (98% or better), including as-built drawings, head end photos, and installation quality pictures.
  • Flexibility: Cover Field Superintendent duties when assigned by the Project Manager, and like every role on the project team, take on duties outside this description as needed to take care of the partner.
