Senior Director of Product Management

New York, Hong Kong, London, Zurich

About Digital Asset & the Canton Network

Digital Asset builds the technologies that are reshaping the foundations of financial markets. Our mission is to create the world’s most trusted, privacy-enabled, and interoperable digital infrastructure for global finance.

At the heart of this mission is the Canton Network - the blockchain purpose-built for institutional finance. Uniquely combining privacy, compliance, and scalability, Canton enables real-time, secure settlement across multiple asset classes. Governed by the Canton Foundation with participation from leading financial institutions, it is the proven link between the promise of blockchain and the power of global finance.

Founded in 2014 and headquartered in New York City, with offices in London, Zurich, Budapest, Hong Kong, and Sydney— we are on a mission to transform finance— and that transformation is now playing out rapidly on the Canton Network.

If you’re interested in playing a crucial role at the intersection of traditional and crypto-capital markets and want to help bring the next trillion dollars of finance on-chain, join us.

About the role:

Canton Network is delivering what others promised but couldn’t: a blockchain for finance that actually works. As the only open layer 1 blockchain network with configurable privacy and controls sufficient for regulatory compliance, it is the venue where DeFi and TradFi are converging.

In this role you’ll be responsible for ensuring that the product and technology suite as a whole provides a smooth customer experience and streamlined path to value for users and customers across the spectrum from DeFi to the world’s largest financial institutions. You’ll work closely with BD, Sales, Developer Relations, and professional services to understand breaks in developer and customer experience in breadth. You’ll work directly with strategic customers that are reliant on product enhancements for their own projects. You’ll own the maintenance of Digital Asset’s reference and example applications to continuously validate the technology as a whole. And you’ll work across professional services, Architecture, and the other Product, Design and and Engineering units to find pragmatic and actionable solutions, either in application patterns or product enhancements, that lead strategic customers to timely success, and steadily improve the builder experience with Canton Network as a whole.

Success in this role requires the ability to connect the dots from the highly commercial to the highly technical to lead customers to success on Canton Network. As the successful candidate, you will bring the capital markets knowledge and understanding of the inner workings of financial institutions and their constraints to be able to work with them effectively towards real MVP financial products on Canton Network. You will have the communication and sales skills to keep customers’ focus on the end goal and vision, to empathize with your counterparties, navigate sensitive conversations and manage risk at the interface between customer projects and Digital Asset’s technology. You’ll have the technical prowess and inclination to lead a team that’s at the leading edge of Canton application development and think through solution approaches with Canton’s core architects and engineers. And you’ll have the experience in managing project execution across units and functions to deliver holistic solutions to the market in a timely manner.

Responsibilities:

  • You work directly with strategic customers, either in tandem with BD, Sales and professional services, or on your own, to holistically understand their projects and use cases, their product dependencies, and work cross-functionally to come up with solutions and project plans that lead these customers to value on Canton Network in a timely manner.
  • You work with product operations (and in some cases professional services) to track and manage customer projects’ dependencies on Digital Asset’s product delivery across multiple products and manage associated risks and communications.
  • You lead a team and cross-functional horizontal that manages Digital Asset’s sample and reference applications that put all the pieces of the technology together and act as templates for customers and validation tools for internal teams.
  • You ensure that features that are brought to market by other teams demonstrably work in the context of a realistic application on the network, both through your knowledge of customer projects, and through validation in the reference applications you own.
  • You work closely with architecture, product and engineering leadership on solutions to customer problems and help make the tradeoffs between pragmatic solutions and time to value with the coherence and simplicity of the stack.
  • You work with other product units to shift solutions from application space to product space to keep the codebase of the reference application as thin as possible and streamline application development for the market.
  • You work with professional services and developer relations to utilize the sample and reference applications as well as the knowledge gained through customer projects to create best practices and educational materials.
  • You work closely with professional services, developer relations and the community at large to understand the breaks and frictions in developer and customer experience and drive the collaboration between distinct PDE units to remove frictions in how different components work together.

What We're Looking For:

  • 10+ years of work experience senior product and technology leadership roles, spanning the commercial to the technical.
  • A robust understanding of the capital markets, the inner workings of large financial institutions, and the dynamics of DLT adoption by traditional finance.
  • Proven track record of bringing innovative software products and projects to market.
  • Hands-on experience with blockchain, DLT and broader developer software.
  • Hands-on full stack software development and architecture experience.
  • Project and risk management experience in complex multi-stakeholder projects.
  • Communication and influencing skills that are effective at a high level and in sensitive situations.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
