Technical Product Manager - Ledger
About Digital Asset & the Canton Network
Digital Asset builds the technologies that are reshaping the foundations of financial markets. Our mission is to create the world’s most trusted, privacy-enabled, and interoperable digital infrastructure for global finance.
At the heart of this mission is the Canton Network - the blockchain purpose-built for institutional finance. Uniquely combining privacy, compliance, and scalability, Canton enables real-time, secure settlement across multiple asset classes. Governed by the Canton Foundation with participation from leading financial institutions, it is the proven link between the promise of blockchain and the power of global finance.
Founded in 2014 and headquartered in New York City, with offices in London, Zurich, Budapest, Hong Kong, and Sydney— we are on a mission to transform finance— and that transformation is now playing out rapidly on the Canton Network.
If you’re interested in playing a crucial role at the intersection of traditional and crypto-capital markets and want to help bring the next trillion dollars of finance on-chain, join us.
About the role:
Canton Network is delivering what others promised but couldn’t: a blockchain for finance that actually works. As the only open layer 1 blockchain with configurable privacy and controls sufficient for regulatory compliance, it is the venue where DeFi and TradFi are converging.
At the core of all this is the Canton blockchain protocol and its implementation in the Canton . Innovating on other layer 1 blockchain technologies in multiple ways, it offers real privacy, high scalability in a network of networks architecture, and the ability to run permissionless and regulated applications side by side with on-chain composability. Canton Network’s unique capabilities, both present and future, derive directly from the capabilities of the protocol. Many of the feature requests and requirements from the ecosystem at large come down at a low level to enhancements to the protocol itself, often involving original R&D to come up with solutions that maintain the protocol’s privacy edge.
In this role you’ll be at the nexus between the core developers of the protocol and the many technical stakeholders - both Digital Asset internal and in the wider community - that are depending on the capabilities of the protocol and node. You’ll become one of the core experts in one of the most advanced blockchain protocols in existence, and help drive its ongoing development. You’ll engage with the developer community ranging across wallet/custory integrators, node operators, and core contributors both to inform them and to understand their challenges and wishes for the network and protocol. And you’ll help translate your insights into an actionable roadmap and backlog and execute against it.
Responsibilities:
- Understand and track the requirements, problems, and wishes of the developer community dependent on the capabilities of the Canton ledger and validator node.
- Manage roadmap, backlog, and releases for the development team behind the Canton protocol and validator node.
- Become an expert on Canton’s functioning and capabilities and create informational materials ranging from documentation to marketing.
- Build relationships with other core development teams as well as the developer community at large and coordinate work between them and the developers of the Canton protocol and node.
- Support development work by clearly formulating problems and objectives, ideating with architects and engineers, and validating designs.
- Stay up to date with respect to the capabilities of other protocols, perform competitive analysis, and help marketing and sales turn your insights into digestible materials.
What We're Looking For:
- Deep expertise in blockchain technology and protocols.
- Market knowledge of blockchain privacy technologies.
- Evidence of being able to grasp, communicate, and write about highly complex technical topics.
- Experience with server-side/backend products, and related topics around deployment, monitoring, NFRs and integration.
- 5+ years experience across (technical) product management and related functions like program management and engineering management.
- Evidence of ability to coordinate multi-team and multi-stakeholder projects to successfully deliver results.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
- Keen to work in-office in Zürich.
