Staff Accountant, Corporate Equity & Capital Reporting
DigitalBridge Group, Inc. is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our Corporate Equity and Capital Reporting team. This role is primarily responsible for the accounting, reporting and administration of the company’s long-term incentive programs, including General Partner entities and employee equity compensation.
The Staff Accountant will work closely with the Vice President of Corporate Equity and Capital Reporting and collaborate cross-functionally with teams across the organization. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, possesses a strong understanding of accounting principles, and is eager to learn within a dynamic private equity environment.
Responsibilities:
Accounting and Reporting for GP and Management Investment Entities:
- Assist with the day-to-day accounting and reporting for General Partner and management investment entities.
- Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations related to carried interest, incentive compensation, and equity-based awards.
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including maintaining roll-forward schedules and variance analyses.
- Contribute to the preparation of financial statement disclosures for SEC filings (10-Q and 10-K), with guidance from senior team members.
Equity Plan Administration:
- Support the administration of the company’s equity compensation plans, including tracking of grants, exercises, forfeitures, and vesting schedules, including financial reporting and analysis.
- Collaborate with internal departments such as Legal, HR, and Payroll to ensure compliance with plan documents and regulatory requirements.
Capital Activities and Fund Administration:
- Gain exposure to investment accounting at both the General Partner (GP) and Fund levels across various investment vehicles managed by the company.
- Prepare and review capital activity transactions related to capital calls and distributions received from fund administrators.
- Develop and update capital call and distribution models, prepare formal notices, and perform liquidation analyses for winding down entities tied to resolved investments.
Financial Statements & Partner-Level Reporting:
- Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly financial reporting packages and detailed partner capital summaries.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date partner records and support responses to investor-related inquiries and ad hoc requests.
Tax Coordination:
- Assist with gathering data and preparing supporting documentation for partnership tax filings and Schedule K-1 reporting.
Process Improvement, Documentation and Special Projects:
- Participate in ad hoc projects and process improvement initiatives within the Corporate Equity and Capital Reporting function.
- Ensure proper documentation is maintained for internal controls and assist with SOX and audit-related tasks.
- Assist with other special analyses, projects and financial modeling as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; CPA certification is strongly preferred.
- Prior accounting experience is desired
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, with a collaborative mindset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with Yardi is a strong plus.
