Senior Accountant - Finance

Denver, Colorado

DigitalBridge is seeking a Senior Accountant to join the Fund Accounting and Operations team supporting its Liquid Strategies platform.

The firm’s Liquid Strategies business manages equity long/short and long only strategies in technology, media, and telecommunications (TMT) as well as digital infrastructure, managing approximately $2.5 billion across two hedge fund strategies. The platform comprises commingled funds and separately managed accounts for institutional allocators, supported by several fund administrators and prime brokers.

The Fund Accounting and Operations team supporting the platform is small and sits directly alongside the portfolio managers and traders. There is no layer between this seat and the investment team, which is uncommon at this level. Team members work across the entire operating cycle rather than a single function: monthly NAV review, management and incentive fee verification, capital activity, daily reconciliation with prime brokers and administrators, and new managed account launches.

The position reports to the Controller for Liquid Strategies and works day to day with the Manager of Fund Accounting.

This is a development-oriented role designed for an accountant in the early stage of a fund accounting career. The successful candidate will build a working command of the monthly close cycle across the platform’s vehicles, including net asset value review support, fee and expense verification, capital activity processing, reconciliations, and investor reporting. Responsibility will expand over time as the candidate demonstrates command of the recurring work.

The team performs an oversight function. Fund administrators maintain the books and records; the team independently verifies that work before it is approved. The Senior Accountant prepares the independent verification and resolves routine exceptions directly with service providers, with review and final approval retained by the Controller.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

NAV Oversight Support

  • Prepare the independent review of monthly net asset value packages, including trial balance, capital accounts, income allocation, and financial highlights, for Controller review and approval
  • Tie out administrator output covering pricing, accruals, financing costs, corporate actions, and profit and loss attribution. Research variances and document resolutions
  • Perform and review daily position, cash, and trade reconciliations among the order management system, prime brokers, and fund administrators. Clear routine breaks and escalate aged or unexplained items
  • Support pricing verification in accordance with the firm’s Valuation Policy, including independent source coverage and identification of stale positions

Fee and Expense Verification

  • Recalculate management and incentive fees against each vehicle’s governing documents and prepare supporting schedules for review
  • Prepare supporting analysis for performance fee and crystallization mechanics, including high-water mark and loss carryforward tracking, under Controller direction where terms are bespoke
  • Prepare expense allocations across vehicles in accordance with the established methodology and confirm consistency with offering documents
  • Process vendor invoices through the accounts payable workflow and confirm accurate recording by the administrator

Capital Activity and Investor Reporting

  • Process subscriptions, redemptions, and transfers across commingled funds and separately managed accounts, including callback verification and coordination with the transfer agent
  • Prepare investor statements, capital account roll-forwards, and recurring monthly and quarterly reporting packages for managed account clients
  • Compile responses to recurring investor and consultant reporting requests, including operational due diligence questionnaires, for senior review

Service Provider Coordination

  • Serve as a day-to-day contact with fund administrators, prime brokers, custodians, and executing brokers on routine operational matters and open items
  • Track outstanding requests and deliverable status and flag recurring service quality issues to the Controller
  • Assist with account documentation and maintenance requests for prime brokerage and custody relationships

Account Onboarding Support

  • Support assigned workstreams for new managed account launches, including account opening documentation, administrator onboarding, system setup, and reporting build
  • Load executed investment management agreement terms into the operating model, including fee parameters, reporting obligations, and investment restrictions
  • Maintain launch checklists and supporting documentation

Compliance, Audit, and Controls

  • Maintain investment restrictions and side letter trackers, perform recurring monitoring, and report exceptions on a timely basis
  • Support the annual audit by preparing supporting schedules, tie-outs, and responses to auditor requests
  • Maintain accounting and operations procedure documentation and assist with the annual review of service provider control reports

Process Support

  • Maintain and improve recurring review templates, checklists, and control checks as the platform grows
  • Identify manual steps in recurring processes that are candidates for standardization and propose improvements

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related discipline
  • Two or more years of accounting experience, preferably in fund accounting, fund administration, or public accounting serving investment management clients
  • Foundational understanding of net asset value production, capital account allocation, and investment company accounting
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and the ability to build clear, well-organized supporting schedules
  • Careful and consistent accuracy under a fixed monthly close calendar with concurrent deliverables
  • Clear written and verbal communication, including comfort corresponding directly with external service providers

Preferred

  • Certified Public Accountant, or active candidate
  • Hedge fund or alternative investment experience
  • Exposure to management and incentive fee mechanics and investor level reporting
  • Familiarity with Eze, Geneva, Advent, or comparable fund accounting and order management platforms
  • Exposure to separately managed accounts or multi-counterparty structures
  • Experience supporting equity long/short strategies, including financing, stock loan, and short position mechanics

The compensation range for this position is for a full-time employee in Colorado. The base salary offered will depend on qualifications, market data and internal equity.

Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way.
