M1 – Engineering Lead - Industry Verticalization

Objective of the Role 

We are looking for an Engineering Lead to oversee and coordinate a team within our Industry Verticalization cell, managing a group of frontend and backend engineers. This role is focused on leadership, strategic planning, and project oversight rather than hands-on development. The ideal candidate will serve as a bridge between the PMO, business stakeholders, and technical teams, ensuring smooth project execution, accurate estimations, and continuous alignment with business objectives. 

This person will work closely with backend and frontend technical leads, leveraging their expertise to track project progress, mitigate risks, and support development teams. Strong software architecture knowledge is essential, as they will validate solutions in collaboration with the architecture team. 

Main Responsibilities 

  • Lead and support a team of backend and frontend engineers, fostering high performance and alignment with business needs. 
  • Act as the main point of contact for PMO, business units, and clients, ensuring smooth communication and project execution. 
  • Manage project estimations, tracking, and administrative processes related to team performance and deliverables. 
  • Oversee Agile/Scrum ceremonies, ensuring effective planning, execution, and continuous improvement. 
  • Ensure compliance with architectural standards, leveraging best practices such as Clean Architecture and SOLID principles. 
  • Work closely with technical leads to oversee development progress and ensure alignment with technical and business goals. 
  • Drive technical excellence by encouraging the adoption of best practices, methodologies, and innovative solutions. 
  • Oversee quality assurance processes, ensuring usability, accessibility, and system reliability. 
  • Support the enablement of payment methods, checkout systems, and other fintech solutions for affiliated businesses. 
  • Provide mentorship, feedback, and career development opportunities for team members. 
  • Manage dependencies, risks, and technical debt effectively. 

 

Required Knowledge and Experience 

  • 7+ years of experience in software development, with at least 2 years in leadership roles. 
  • Expertise in Java development, with an understanding of frontend, backend and mobile technologies. 
  • Strong experience in software architecture, including Clean Architecture and SOLID principles. 
  • Familiarity with Kotlin and C# languages, database and microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, web and cloud development. 
  • Experience working with Agile methodologies and managing technical projects. 
  • Understanding of secure development practices and CI/CD tools. 
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams. 
  • Experience in fintech, payment systems, or e-commerce is a plus. 
  • Fluent in English.
