Objective of the Role
Serves as a key technical visionary, responsible for shaping the organization’s technology strategy and leading the design of transformative, scalable systems. This role operates at the highest technical level, driving innovation, influencing organizational direction, and ensuring that engineering efforts deliver measurable business impact. Mentors technical experts across the organization, fosters a culture of excellence, and ensures alignment with long-term strategic goals.
Main Responsibilities
- Define and drive the technology strategy, collaborating with executive leadership to ensure alignment with business priorities and long-term objectives.
- Lead the design and development of advanced, large-scale systems and architectures that set technical direction for the organization.
- Act as the organization’s top technical authority, providing strategic guidance and decision-making for complex engineering challenges.
- Mentor and influence Senior Staff Engineers, Staff Engineers, and other senior technical contributors, fostering professional growth and technical mastery.
- Drive the adoption of innovative technologies and frameworks, ensuring the organization remains at the forefront of industry trends and capabilities.
- Champion technical excellence by establishing and enforcing high standards for secure coding, automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Collaborate with cross-functional leaders, including product, business, and operations teams, to align technical initiatives with strategic goals.
- Lead organizational efforts to design fault-tolerant, highly available systems, optimizing infrastructure and enhancing system reliability.
- Oversee and influence the execution of the most critical, high-impact technical projects, ensuring they meet strategic, quality, and timeline objectives.
- Serve as a key stakeholder in the development of the organization’s technology roadmap, contributing insights on architecture, tools, and processes.
- Conduct deep technical reviews and provide actionable feedback to ensure scalability, maintainability, and security of solutions.
- Partner with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) and security teams to enhance system resilience, capacity planning, and adherence to compliance standards.
- Promote knowledge sharing and collaboration across engineering teams, ensuring consistent adoption of best practices and technical alignment.
- Evaluate and select strategic tools, platforms, and frameworks to enhance organizational efficiency and capabilities.
- Drive technical innovation by prototyping and experimenting with cutting-edge tools and solutions, assessing feasibility and potential impact.
- Promote an autonomous work culture by encouraging self-management, accountability, and proactive problem-solving among team members.
- Serve as a Spin Culture Ambassador to foster and maintain a positive, inclusive, and dynamic work environment that aligns with the company's values and culture.
Required Knowledge and Experience
- 12+ years of experience in software development, with extensive expertise in architecting and delivering large-scale, mission-critical systems.
- Mastery of programming languages such as Java, Python, C#, or Node.js, with expertise in modern frameworks and technologies (React, Angular).
- Proven experience in microservices architecture, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and advanced API management.
- Advanced knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and their application to build secure, scalable systems.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and align cross-functional teams, providing thought leadership and strategic guidance.
- Expertise in database technologies, including SQL and NoSQL systems, and experience in data modeling and performance optimization.
- Strong background in Agile methodologies, DevOps practices, and implementing CI/CD pipelines at scale.
- Deep understanding of secure software development practices, compliance standards, and tools like SAST, DAST, and threat modeling.
- Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience presenting to executive leadership.
- Proven track record of driving technical initiatives that deliver measurable business impact and align with strategic goals.
