M1 – Engineering Lead – Loyalty on Devices

Objective of the Role 

Responsible for leading and coordinating the integration of Loyalty payments into POS (Point-of-Sale) devices, ensuring a seamless and secure transaction experience. This role focuses on defining the technical strategy for payment device integration, ensuring compliance with ISO 8583 standards, and driving innovation in secure mobile payment solutions. Works closely with cross-functional teams to enhance security, scalability, and performance while aligning with business objectives. 

Main Responsibilities 

  • Lead, mentor, and coordinate the Loyalty on POS Devices development team. 
  • Define and execute the technical strategy for integrating Loyalty payments into POS terminals, ensuring reliability and security. 
  • Oversee the development and optimization of Android-based payment solutions (Kotlin) for POS devices. 
  • Collaborate with security teams to enforce compliance with ISO 8583 and industry best practices for secure transactions. 
  • Ensure seamless communication between mobile applications, credit and debit cards, and POS devices. 
  • Work with multiple POS hardware providers, such as PAX, Verifone, Ingenico, Urovo, and Kozen, ensuring compatibility and performance. 
  • Provide technical guidance on device-level integrations, addressing challenges in mobile payments and embedded transaction processing. 
  • Align development efforts with broader business goals, ensuring efficient resource allocation and execution. 

  

Required Knowledge and Experience 

  • 7+ years of experience in mobile and embedded payment systems, including 1-2 years in leadership or mentoring roles. FinTech experience is a plus. 
  • Expertise in POS terminal integration with at least one major provider (PAX, Verifone, Ingenico, Urovo, Kozen). 
  • Strong technical knowledge in Android development (Kotlin) and secure mobile payments. 
  • Hands-on experience with ISO 8583 and secure transaction processing. 
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills to drive cross-team collaboration and execution. 
  • Fluent in English.
