M1 – Engineering Lead - Loyalty Core

Objective of the Role 

We are looking for an Engineering Lead to oversee and coordinate a team within our Loyalty Core initiative. This role is focused on leadership, strategic planning, and project oversight rather than hands-on coding. The ideal candidate must have strong technical understanding to make informed decisions and guide the team effectively. 

This person will play a key role in decoupling our current third-party loyalty engine and building a robust in-house core solution that serves all our ecosystems. 

Main Responsibilities 

  • Lead and mentor a team of engineers, ensuring high performance and career growth. 
  • Oversee Agile processes, ensuring effective planning and execution. 
  • Define and drive technical excellence, promoting best practices in architecture and development. 
  • Manage dependencies, risks, and technical debt, ensuring scalability. 
  • Navigate discussions with Product teams, negotiating scope and priorities. 
  • Contribute to the decoupling of our third-party loyalty engine, helping build a new scalable core system. 
  • Ensure AWS and microservices best practices are followed. 

 

Required Knowledge and Experience 

  • 7+ years of experience in software development, with at least 2 years leading teams. 
  • Strong experience with software architecture, including microservices. 
  • Solid understanding of AWS and cloud-based solutions. 
  • Ability to negotiate scope, priorities, and roadmap with Product teams. 
  • Experience in team leadership, mentorship, and career development planning. 
  • Background in fintech, payment systems, or loyalty programs is a plus. 
  • Fluent in English.
