Objective of the Role
Implement, manage, and maintain the data quality of SPIN to enable teams to provide reliable, consistent, complete, accurate, and timely data. This ensures that high-quality information is available for each of our internal and external clients while complying with necessary laws and regulations.
Main Responsibilities
- Ensure high data quality by implementing and analyzing business rules and data validation and/or profiling to trigger corrective, enriching, and data cleaning actions.
- Accelerate the implementation of data transformation and quality processes by defining the guidelines to be used during the data's passage through each layer in the data lake.
- Actively participate in planning best practices related to data quality in data migration processes, focusing primarily on cleaning, deduplication, and data enrichment operations.
- Define end-to-end test scenarios by analyzing different scenarios within business use cases to verify data integrity.
- Define and perform data mapping, equivalence relationships, process mapping, and data flow diagrams to maintain record integrity.
- Ensure quality control of data for all products from ingestion.
- Lead Data Owners, Tech teams, and Business teams in validating complex data and business rules that enable collaboration between systems and applications.
- Define and communicate data quality metrics that drive actions and/or collaborative campaigns aimed at achieving substantial enrichment of missing data.
- Lead Data Owners in defining quality rules (Data Validations and Business Rules).
- In data migration processes, ensure the correct mapping of fields to guarantee that migrating data complies with previously established standards and rules.
- Ensure documentation of all artifacts where data quality is applied.
- Provide critical information and quality measurement reports to Data Owners and Data teams, driving necessary dialogues and actions to enhance data quality.
- Define and ensure the necessary controls to maintain data quality throughout its lifecycle.
- Lead the optimization of workflows in applications and ensure consistency processes.
- Promote good communication between departments by eliminating data silos, encouraging data sharing, and preventing ingestion and analysis from occurring in isolation.
- Ensure collaboration with security and data protection teams in implementing controls to detect potential risks and ensure data usage complies with established regulations.
- Ensure uniqueness by automating and implementing controls that allow planning for detection, correction, and improvement procedures to enhance data quality from its origin.
- Lead efforts related to the documentation associated with data quality, standards, policies, processes, etc., from definition to execution, establishing compliance metrics that aid continuous improvement of data quality and governance.
- Define, in collaboration with the business, frameworks and/or ways of working that align and optimize data processes.
- Safeguard data documentation regarding policies, rules, and standards.
- Examine and evaluate, in conjunction with the Data Quality Lead, the status of the assigned project and/or requirements, including identifying risks, implementing controls, executing profiling, documentation, and potential issues that need to be escalated or changed, while proposing solutions to project leaders.
- Ability to resolve difficult situations and/or decisions and foster consensus through a diplomatic approach.
- Ability to lead multiple stakeholders on the benefits of data quality.
- Act as a mentor in resolving data quality issues with peers.
- Promote an autonomous work culture by encouraging self-management, accountability, and proactive problem-solving among team members.
- Serve as a Spin Culture Ambassador to foster and maintain a positive, inclusive, and dynamic work environment that aligns with the company's values and culture.
Required Knowledge and Experience
- Data Quality Management (5+ years of experience).
- Experience in data cleaning, normalization, and enrichment.
- Experience using and/or implementing at least 2 data quality/profiling tools.
- Knowledge of functionality, data flows, monitoring, and quality reporting.
- Knowledge of the Data Ingestion Process (3+ years of experience).
- Advanced knowledge of a data visualization tool (Tableau, Looker, Power BI) (5+ years of experience).
- Experience in Data Migration (at least 2 migration processes).
- Master Data Management (3+ years of experience).
- Data Privacy and Compliance.
- Knowledge of Database, SQL, and Data Warehouse/Database & DWH Design (3+ years of experience).
- Familiarity with DAMA or TDWI Data Governance methodology.
- Understanding of Business Processes and Business Rules.
- Automation of Policies and Controls.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to persuade/influence others at all levels of the organization and foster lasting partnerships.
- Ability to translate business requirements into critical data dependencies and requirements.
