Position Overview:

We're on the lookout for a motivated and creative UX Product Intern to join our team at Digs. This role presents an exciting opportunity to contribute to our product design process while gaining hands-on experience in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the design team to ideate and execute creative concepts for our digital products, focusing on user experience and interface design.
  • Assist in conducting user research to understand user needs, behaviors, and pain points, and translate insights into actionable design solutions.
  • Create wireframes, prototypes, and mockups to visualize and communicate design concepts, iterating based on user feedback and usability testing.
  • Work closely with product managers and developers to ensure alignment between design and technical implementation, advocating for user-centered design principles.
  • Help maintain and evolve our design system, ensuring consistency and scalability across products and platforms.
  • Contribute innovative ideas and insights during product planning and strategy sessions to drive user engagement and satisfaction.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and design best practices relevant to product design and user experience.

Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree, bootcamp, or equivalent experience in Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, UX/UI Design, or a related field.
  • Enthusiasm for the tech industry and a passion for designing intuitive and impactful digital products.
  • Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Figma (required), Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar.
  • Previous experience working with engineers and PMs desired, but not required.
  • Portfolio demonstrating strong visual and interaction design skills, with a focus on user-centered design principles and usability.
  • Ability to effectively communicate design concepts and rationale to cross-functional teams.
  • Experience or familiarity with user research methods, usability testing, and design thinking processes is advantageous.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to shifting priorities.

The Details:

This internship position is set to begin in June 2025, lasting for 12 weeks, with a commitment of 20-30 hours per week. The compensation ranges from $20 to $25 per hour, depending on experience. The internship will be conducted remotely using platforms such as Google Meet or Zoom. Candidates who live near our office in Vancouver, WA, have the option to work on-site if they prefer. We will provide all necessary equipment, including a laptop, to ensure you have everything needed to succeed in this role.
