
Steel Fabricator Shop Foreman
Structural and Miscellaneous Steel company is looking for a Fabrication Manager to join our growing team!
The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 10 years or more experience in Structural and Miscellaneous Steel Fabrication.
As a Structural Steel and Miscellaneous Fabrication Manager, you’ll play a critical role in overseeing the sourcing, procurement, and fabrication of structural steel components used in construction projects. Your expertise and experience will ensure that projects are executed, safely, efficiently, on time, and within budget.
Must have a strong understanding of steel fabrication processes, AISC Quality
Program and AWS processes and procedures.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate with the shop team to ensure accurate production.
Review fabrication drawings, specifications, and AISC quality control procedures.
Monitor fabrication progress, addressing any issues or delays.
Oversee quality assurance and compliance with AISC & industry standards.
Lead a team of fitters, equipment operators and welders.
Provide guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback.
Foster a collaborative and efficient work environment.
Anticipate and mitigate risks related to procurement delays, material shortages, or quality issues.
Implement contingency plans when necessary.
Basic Qualifications:
Minimum 10 years of experience in structural steel and miscellaneous metals fabrication.
Strong knowledge of steel fabrication processes, AISC standards, and material specifications.
Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain supplier relationships.
Ability to schedule all shop work and communicate with management and clients.
Proficiency in project management software and tools.
In-depth knowledge of CNC fabrication equipment.
Tekla PowerFab experience.
Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree in engineering or logistics
- Proficiency with SCM+ for warehouse management
