Position Overview:  

Responsible for setting our global product marketing strategy, leading an exceptionally talented and fast-growing team, and linking customer needs to go-to-market strategy, product positioning and pricing across the organization. The Director, Product Marketing will be an expert in understanding our customer and market and build stories to help us engage current and future customers for long-term success, all while creating demand in the market and differentiating us from the competition. The Director, Product Marketing’s impact will touch all parts of the company and help us fuel our growth as the market leader in this space. 

The Director of Product Marketing will be responsible for driving the success of Diligent’s core Boards product lines in the global market, across personas and verticals, supporting multiple brands in market. The Director owns revenue targets, acting as a business manager for their product line(s) in partnership with sales and product management. This role includes developing a deep understanding of Diligent’s customers and prospects, products and technology, the overall market, key vertical markets and segments, and the competition.   

Activities will include: Market sizing and opportunity analysis, conducting market and customer research, developing business cases for new solutions, creating product/solution positioning and messaging, creating customer-relevant solutions bundles, developing merchandising strategies, setting pricing and promotions, developing and executing internal and external launch plans, creating demand generation plans to acquire, grow, and keep customers, driving sales and marketing content for the core Boards product lines, and helping shape sales training.  

The successful candidate will work closely with all other marketing functions, sales, customer success, and product management to accurately position Boards solutions in the marketplace and define go-to-market strategies that will accelerate growth globally.

The Director owns revenue targets, acting as a business manager for their product line in partnership with sales and product management. This role includes developing a deep understanding of the customers and prospects, products and technology, the overall market, key vertical markets and segments, and the competitive landscape. 

Activities will include: Market sizing and opportunity analysis, conducting market and customer research, developing business cases for new solutions, creating product/solution positioning and messaging, creating customer-relevant solutions, developing merchandising strategies, setting pricing and packaging, developing and executing internal and external launch plans, creating demand generation plans to acquire, grow, and keep customers, driving sales and marketing content for the Entities product lines, and helping shape sales and customer success training. 

The successful candidate will work closely with all other marketing functions, sales, customer success, product management, and business leadership to accurately position Diligent’s entity management solutions in the marketplace and define go-to-market strategies that will accelerate growth globally. 

Key Responsibilities  

  • Lead a team of high-performing product marketers, supporting their development and helping them build their careers, while also driving the core initiatives and priorities within the demands of a high-growth company. 
  • Own, define and operationalize the company’s global the go-to-market (GTM) strategy  
  • Collaborate closely with relevant stakeholders to gather and mobilize impactful market insights that directly inform product roadmap and GTM strategies  
  • Identify addressable market opportunities and define global market segmentation strategy, with input from Product, Marketing and Sales teams  
  • Guide the positioning of the company’s products & solutions to fuel adoption of new products and features and help customers achieve success. 
  • Partner closely with Product Management to understand the product strategy and develop top-line customer narratives and compelling customer stories. 
  • Collaborate with business operations, enablement + sales leadership to deliver company-wide enablement strategies. 
  • Lead pricing and packaging initiatives for new customer segments, products, plans and cross-portfolio packages. 
  • Play an integral role in the transformation of an industry and see your work directly impact the GRC space 
  • Build a deep understanding of our customers, the market, verticals, and the competition across all the key regions 
  • Define segmentation, use cases/scenarios, buyer personas and value proposition, and use that to build positioning, targeting, pricing, and messaging  
  • Define clear and compelling customer pain points, value propositions, competitive differentiation, and customer success stories  
  • Create new product introduction strategies and go-to-market recommendations  
  • Create segment-specific offers and messaging that is compelling, relevant, and differentiated  
  • Partner with the Content Team to support all of the above including webinars, educational tips & tricks, in-app messaging, guides, sales materials product videos, customer success stories, blog posts, ebooks, infographics, and more  
  • Lead and manage team of product marketers in support of these responsibilities  
  • Work with the product management team to uncover new markets and use cases, define new offers, and influence roadmap decisions   
  • Validate hypotheses through customer insights, data analysis, and testing  
  • Monitor competitive activities, identifying gaps and opportunities  

Required Experience/Skills  

  • 10+ years experience delivering compelling product marketing results, ideally with experience in a high growth SaaS company. 
  • 5+ years managing a team including hiring, inspiring and leading within a fast-paced marketing organization. 
  • Experience developing go-to-market plans and with clear data-driven results. 
  • Demonstrated success working cross-functionally across product, sales and training teams. 
  • An understanding of pricing for SaaS and proven experience leading pricing and packaging strategies. 
  • 10+ yrs experience in B2B product marketing in a sales-focused environment 
  • Proven ability to create go-to-market positioning and strategies  
  • Proven ability to create and position solution offers unique to different segments  
  • Proven experience creating compelling messaging for different segments and personas  
  • Experience driving sales enablement / training to position products with commercial teams 
  • Ability to craft compelling stories, collateral, and tools around technology products and services for both business and technical buyers  
  • Experienced marketer that understands how to use the full marketing toolkit  
  • Technically savvy and intellectually curious about new technologies and how they work/enable new customer solutions  
  • Avid learner who has experience learning new markets and industries and devising solutions and marketing strategies to reach those markets  
  • Strong teaming skills and experience to bring together diverse views and communicate/collaborate effectively

  • Proven experience leading and managing teams
  • Previous experience with our target personas (general council, corporate secretary, legal ops, CFO and internal audit) and/or experience in the governance or entity management industries desired but not required

FLSA: Exempt

U.S pay range

$190,000 - $215,000 USD
