Position overview
Diligent is seeking a Data Scientist Intern to join our Platform AI Team. As an intern, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to data-driven product development by supporting research initiatives and helping the team provide actionable insights to inform product design decisions. You'll collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to ensure our products meet user needs and expectations through various data analysis and machine learning techniques.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in data collection, cleaning, and preprocessing for various Data Science projects
- Support the team in conducting exploratory data analysis and creating visualizations
- Contribute to the development and implementation and deployment of cutting-edge Machine Learning models
- Help in the creation of data-driven artifacts and monitoring techniques such as dashboards and reports
- Participate in problem framing and ideation of Data Science methodologies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business problems into data science solutions
Required Experience/Skills
- Pursuing a degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Software Engineering, Computational Social Sciences, Economic Analyst or a related field
- Good knowledge of the Python programming language
- Familiarity with common data manipulation libraries such as NumPy, Pandas and SciPy, experience with data visualization tools and techniques
- Knowledge of machine learning libraries including Scikit-learn and PyTorch
- A track record of previous Machine Learning (pet) projects, preferably in the field of NLP (through Large Language Models), Time-Series Analysis or Reinforcement Learning
- Solid foundation in statistical analysis and machine learning concepts, including various evaluation techniques
- Critical thinking, creativity and an overall problem-solving attitude; willingness to constantly improve in the field
- Self-driven mindset with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Conversational English communication skills
- Interest in finance, economics and learning about corporate governance
