About the Role
We’re looking for a visionary Director of Product Content to lead our global team of technical writers and UX writers. This role will shape the future of how content is created, delivered, and maintained at scale by blending human expertise with emerging AI technologies.
The ideal candidate is both a strategic leader and a hands-on change agent who has successfully led content organizations through a transformation from traditional, manually maintained content to scalable, AI-assisted systems. You’ll drive the adoption of AI and automation to increase efficiency, reduce manual effort, and improve the consistency and personalization of user-facing content across our products.
You’ll partner across design, product, engineering, and support to deliver clear, helpful, and timely product content that empowers users and improves product adoption and satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead and Develop a Global Content Team
- Manage, mentor, and scale a high-performing international team technical writers and UX writers distributed across time zones and cultures from our Bangalore center of excellence.
- Build a team culture that balances creativity, accountability, and adaptability in a rapidly evolving content landscape.
- Identify and cultivate future-facing skills in AI-assisted writing, prompt engineering, structured content, and modular documentation.
2. Spearhead AI-Powered Content Transformation
- Define and execute a long-term vision for transforming the content team from a traditional documentation model to an AI-augmented content organization.
- Evaluate and implement AI tools (e.g., LLMs, summarization, localization engines, structured content generation) to automate low-value tasks such as:
- First drafts of support articles
- Release note summaries
- Personalized help content
- Tagging and metadata enrichment
- Translation and localization workflows
- Establish scalable workflows that combine human editorial oversight with machine-generated content.
- Partner with Legal, Security, and Product teams to ensure AI-generated content meets compliance, quality, and brand standards.
3. Drive Strategic Content Initiatives
- Own the end-to-end strategy and operations for help content, support articles, onboarding flows, and in-product documentation.
- Ensure all content is discoverable, accessible, and tailored to user needs across platforms and touchpoints.
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering to integrate contextual help, tooltips, and AI assistants into the core product experience.
4. Build Infrastructure for Scale
- Standardize content models, taxonomies, governance frameworks, and performance metrics that support AI and non-AI content production.
- Drive continuous improvement through measurement, user feedback, and proactive content maintenance.
- Lead change management efforts to align stakeholders and train teams on new AI-driven processes and tools.
5. Partner Across the Organization
- Serve as a key voice in Design and Product leadership conversations around user experience, support scalability, and content innovation.
- Collaborate with international teams to ensure content localization and cultural nuances are preserved even as automation scales.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in technical writing including 5+ years leading large or distributed teams.
- 3-5 years leading UX writing and content strategy efforts and articulating their impact to the business.
- Must be interested in shaping the future of content by championing AI-powered tools and workflows that elevate how teams work and scale.
- Some understanding of LLMs, prompt engineering, structured content, and content lifecycle automation
- Experience building content governance frameworks that blend human expertise with machine scale
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives, especially with Design, Product, Engineering, and Support
- Experience working across global time zones and cultures; high EQ and strong communication skills
- Background in SaaS, enterprise software, or other technical domains is highly preferred
- Passion for developing talent and hiring for the next generation of AI-native content teams
To be considered for an offer, candidates must be able to clearly express their perspective on several of the topics outlined below.
