Position Overview 

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer in Test (iOS) with deep expertise with iOS ecosystem and in test automation. We are looking for someone with a true passion for building high-quality mobile products, to join our Boards Mobile team at the Center for Global Product Innovation in Budapest. 

This role goes beyond traditional QA: we are seeking someone who combines automation engineering skills, strategic test design, and an innovative mindset to ensure our iOS applications deliver seamless, reliable, and intelligent user experiences. 

The ideal candidate thrives in complex technical environments, can design automation frameworks at scale, and brings curiosity for leveraging AI and modern testing practices to raise the quality bar. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Design, implement, and maintain automated test frameworks to validate app functionality, performance, and reliability. 
  • Develop and execute test strategies across features, releases, and platforms to ensure comprehensive coverage and risk mitigation. 
  • Be open to execute manual test suites as well if needed 
  • Leverage AI-driven tools and practices to improve test effectiveness, speed, and defect detection. 
  • Collaborate closely with developers, product owners, and designers to define clear acceptance criteria and embed quality into the development lifecycle. 
  • Mentor junior QA engineers, sharing best practices in automation, mobile testing, and continuous quality improvement. 
  • Partner with global teams across North America and Europe, driving consistency in QA approaches and automation standards. 
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps initiatives, ensuring automated tests are integrated, reliable, and provide rapid feedback. 

  • Take ownership of complex quality challenges, bringing analytical thinking and resourcefulness to ambiguous problems. 

Required Experience & Skills 

  • 6+ years of experience in QA engineering, with at least 3+ years focused on iOS automation. 
  • Strong hands-on experience with XCUItest (or similar) for building and scaling automated UI test frameworks. 
  • Proven track record in mobile QA, test design, and defect management. 
  • Familiarity with Git/GitHub and collaborative development workflows. 
  • Analytical troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose issues across UI, APIs, and backend systems. 
  • Excellent communication skills with a strong sense of ownership, teamwork, and accountability. 

  • Ability to manage workload, prioritize effectively, and drive QA strategy proactively. 

Preferred

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar). 
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted testing approaches or ML-powered QA tools. 
  • Exposure to agile/lean methodologies and working in cross-functional teams. 
  • Experience in customer-facing issue triage or product maintenance
