Position Overview:  

As a Software Engineer on the Entities product team at Diligent, you will play a hands-on technical role in developing, maintaining, and enhancing core entity management functionalities within our Governance Data Platform pillar. The Entities product team is responsible for handling essential metadata, organization structures, and hierarchical relationships, making a major impact on how business-critical data is defined and managed throughout Diligent’s ecosystem. 

You will deliver performant backend features in C++ and contribute to frontend development for Entities. This role suits mid-level engineers who write robust, maintainable code, mentor others, and leverage AI-driven tools to continually improve processes. The team works with a mix of technologies, aiming to deliver stable and forward-looking solutions that support organizational governance at scale. 

Key Responsibilities  

  • Design, implement, and optimize backend components for entity modeling, data processing, and management using C++ 
  • Collaborate with product designers and frontend engineers to deliver intuitive and reliable entity management features on modern web platforms such as React, Angular, or similar frameworks 
  • Contribute to ongoing improvements in codebase stability, maintainability, and scalability 
  • Engage in code reviews, unit testing, and troubleshooting, while sharing knowledge and promoting code quality across the team 
  • Guide and support junior engineers in both backend and frontend technical practices 
  • Use AI-powered tools to advance productivity in coding, debugging, documentation, and research, applying clear judgment when evaluating AI outputs 
  • Participate in Agile development, driving iterative delivery and rapid improvements 

  • Work closely with international colleges 

Required Experience/Skills  

  • 3–5 years of professional software engineering experience in an agile, fast-paced environment. 
  • Familiar with core AI concepts (tokens, context length, embeddings, hallucinations), understands high-level LLM behaviour, and recognizes safe vs. unsafe use cases (privacy, security, fairness). 
  • Proficient in C++ for backend development, data modeling, and processing 
  • Open-mindedness in delivering frontend components in a wide range of technologies 
  • Experience using Git/GitHub for collaborative codebase management 
  • Strong communication and cross-functional teamwork skills, comfortable with sharing technical designs and knowledge 
  • Responsible use of AI to accelerate development, with attention to privacy, security, and ethical implications 
  • Experience with AWS cloud services is a bonus but not required
