Network Security Analyst

THE TEAM
The Information Security team is responsible for ensuring Dillard’s data and infrastructure maintain Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Continually monitor the company’s intrusion detection systems
- Create technically detailed reports based on findings of intrusions and events
- Assist in conducting computer incident investigations
- Perform assessment and analysis on anomalous network and system activity
- Responsible for troubleshooting and problem-solving security-related issues
- Required to provide quality customer service to other teams within IT
- Responsible for the review of network technology services to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the company’s information assets
- Responsible for the audit of network access control lists, firewall rule sets, Virtual Private Networks (VPN), Network Access Control (NAC), etc., and providing recommendations to the network operations team based on security best practices.
- Undertake the administration and maintenance of the department’s competencies for real-time alerting and digital forensics
- Responsible for understanding what our vulnerabilities are and communicating with other teams about those vulnerabilities
- Collaborate with the IT department to ensure the timely implementation of controls, including patching, with minimal impact on the business operations
- Participate in on-call rotations
THE MUST HAVES
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship
- Ability to work onsite at Corporate Headquarters in Little Rock, AR
- Motivated self-starter with strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to create complex technical reports on analytic findings.
- Ability to understand and discuss complex technical concepts and must be able to communicate technical details in a non-technical manner to various levels of IT and the business, both in verbal and written form
- Professional education or training in Computer Science, IT, or a related field beyond a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of IT security or network administration experience
THE NICE TO HAVES
- Familiarity with computer forensic tools or other network forensic applications
- Information security or network certifications are advantageous.
WITHIN 30 DAYS, YOU’LL
- Complete a firewall review and make recommendations to improve the security of firewall rules.
- Be able to begin understanding the key stakeholders for any alerts from network security tools.
- Have an understanding of the security tools outside of network security
WITHIN 60 DAYS, YOU’LL
- Handle a standard firewall rule request to be able to approve its implementation.
- Be able to identify promiscuous rules in the firewall
WITHIN 90 DAYS, YOU’LL
- Be able to lead meetings with architects and management
- Be available to lead/take on projects
- Handle any on-call tasks or understand who to escalate tasks to outside of your discipline.
