Senior Technical Project Analyst

India

About Dimagi

Dimagi is an award-winning social enterprise and a certified B Corp and Benefit Corporation. Our primary product, CommCare, is the most widely-deployed open-source digital platform for enabling Frontline Workers. Since 2002, Governments and organizations across all sectors have built customized mobile, web, and SMS applications on CommCare to deliver services to underserved populations. Dimagi is more than a tech company. We are an impact-first team of compassionate people from all parts of the world and all walks of life, dedicated to using business as a force for good in global health and development.

About the Position

Dimagi is looking for a Senior Technical Project Analyst (STPA) to join our Connect Division. Connect by Dimagi is building a new model for global development that links funding directly to verified service delivery at the frontline. Our platform connects funders with a network of trusted, locally-led organizations (LLOs) to deliver proven, high-impact services. Frontline Workers (FLWs) use a mobile app to learn skills, deliver services, and verify that their work meets quality standards in order to get paid. For funders, Connect offers a transparent, cost-effective way to invest in verified outcomes. For LLOs, it provides access to sustainable funding and tools to support delivering these vital services.

In this role, depending on the project, you may manage an individual workstream, or coordinate across workstreams on a project with support from senior team members. You will take on complex technical challenges, including leading requirements gathering and solution design for your assigned areas, and bringing sound technical judgment to problems that don't always have obvious answers. You will use AI-powered tools as a core part of how you work: to investigate issues, accelerate analysis, generate and test hypotheses, and unblock progress — knowing when to rely on them and when deeper human judgment is needed.

You will work in an agile environment alongside developers, engineers, public health professionals, and project management specialists, and are expected to operate with the reliability and ownership that allows the broader team to move forward with confidence.

Responsibilities

The specific responsibilities of a Senior Technical Project Analyst can vary per project but are likely to include:

Application Design & Configuration

  • Lead solution design and configuration for assigned workstreams on Dimagi’s CommCare, Connect, and Open Chat Studio (OCS) platforms, delivering complete technical implementations with minimal rework.
  • Build and test advanced forms, workflows, and automations; lead prompt engineering and chatbot evaluation activities; and resolve complex system and data issues, using AI tools to accelerate diagnosis and hypothesis generation while reviewing outputs and using critical thinking to interpret results.
  • Design integrations between Dimagi’s products and/or data systems, applying an understanding of how products interact and what integration approaches are appropriate for the use case.
  • Identify technical risks, constraints, and design trade-offs early, and propose practical solutions that balance quality with delivery timelines.
  • Adapt quickly to new platform features and AI-powered tools, ramping up independently and sharing what you learn with the team.

Requirements & Technical Delivery

  • Work closely with Project Managers and other stakeholders to refine business requirements and translate them into clear, well-scoped technical specifications.
  • Estimate level of effort for technical tasks accurately, based on a realistic understanding of complexity and platform capabilities.
  • Manage your own work delivery against project plans and milestones, proactively surfacing risks or blockers and coordinating with senior team members to resolve them.
  • Use AI tools to support requirements gathering, documentation, and analysis tasks — applying judgment to validate outputs and ensure alignment with project standards.
  • Communicate progress, risks, and dependencies clearly through stand-ups, retrospectives, and project management tools (e.g. Asana).

Data Analysis & System Investigation

  • Run data analysis to identify trends, validate project assumptions, surface data quality issues, and generate insights that inform design decisions and project iteration.
  • Investigate system structure and data models in depth to answer complex technical or programmatic questions, drawing on AI tools and documentation to accelerate investigation and unblock progress.
  • Create and manage dashboards and reports to produce project insights and drive actions for project teams.

Quality Assurance & Delivery Support

  • Own quality management for your technical workstreams throughout the software development lifecycle, ensuring implementations meet specifications and acceptance criteria.
  • Design and execute quality assurance test plans; document recurring issues and resolutions to build shared team knowledge.
  • Support internal teams and clients in understanding how to effectively use and manage the system, contributing to training and capacity building activities as needed.

Documentation & Process Improvement

  • Use AI tools to support and accelerate documentation, adapting outputs to ensure they meet project and partner standards.
  • Identify gaps in delivery processes and proactively propose improvements, contributing to continuous improvement of team methodology and tools.

Relevant Skills

  • 3+ years of experience in a technical or technical-delivery role, with a track record of owning and delivering complex technical requirements for software systems or applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead solution design for assigned workstreams, deliver high-quality implementations with minimal rework, and operate with a high degree of independence.
  • Comfortable using AI-powered tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot) as a core part of day-to-day work — for investigation, analysis, documentation, and problem-solving — with strong judgment about when to validate or escalate.
  • Strong analytical ability, including experience running data analysis to identify trends, surface issues, and inform design improvements.
  • Experience with integrations between software systems and familiarity with data models and how products interact within a broader ecosystem.
  • Ability to work in and contribute to dynamic, cross-functional teams, including effective collaboration with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts clearly and produce documentation usable by partner teams.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously, adapt to changing priorities, and deliver reliably against deadlines.
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented, with a track record of taking ownership of work, following through on commitments, and proactively improving how things are done.
  • Solid grounding in human-centered design principles, agile software development, and quality assurance practices.
  • Comfort in using Google Workspace.
  • Interest in applying technical skills to socially impactful projects.
  • (Bonus) Formal training in computer science, information systems, data, public health, or related fields.
  • (Bonus) Experience with data analysis, reporting, or visualization tools (e.g. Power BI, Superset, Python).
  • (Bonus) Professional fluency in the local language as required.

OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
