Staff Program Manager, Leadership Enablement

San Francisco Bay Area

Discord is used by over 200 million people every month for many different reasons, but there’s one thing that nearly everyone does on our platform: play video games. Over 90% of our users play games, spending a combined 1.5 billion hours playing thousands of unique titles on Discord each month. Discord plays a uniquely important role in the future of gaming. We are focused on making it easier and more fun for people to talk and hang out before, during, and after playing games.

The People Programs team develops skills, inspires connection, and motivates high performance at every level of Discord. We create experiences that help Discordians grow their capabilities, connect with our mission, and build meaningful careers — all oriented around building a high-performance organization. Our work spans Learning Experience, Employee Engagement, and Talent Management.

As our Staff Program Manager, Leadership Enablement, you'll own the manager and leadership development pillar of that strategy. You'll be responsible for the programs, tools, and experiences that shape how people leaders at Discord learn, grow, and show up for their teams — from new managers finding their footing to senior leaders navigating complex organizational challenges. This is a high-visibility role where your work will directly influence how leadership shows up across the company.

This role reports to the Sr. Director, People Programs.

What you'll be doing

  • Own and evolve Mentors & Leaders (M&L), Discord's flagship leadership investment program — including structured learning journeys for new managers, cohort-based development for experienced leaders, live learning opportunities, and a broader ecosystem of tools and resources. The program has strong foundations; this role is focused on scaling and elevating what's already working.
  • Own end-to-end Leadership Onboarding, building structured, scalable onboarding journeys for new and transitioning people leaders from manager through senior director level.
  • Integrate AI tools and workflows into leadership programming, helping managers and leaders adopt AI-driven approaches to improve their effectiveness.
  • Provide 1:1 coaching and advisory support to senior leaders (VP and Sr. Director level) on leadership effectiveness, team health, and organizational challenges — in partnership with their People Business Partner.
  • Design and facilitate leadership development programs and workshops for middle management, including skills-based training, cohort learning, and action learning projects.
  • Partner with the Sr. Director, People Programs as a strategic thought partner on company-level organizational challenges, identifying where leadership development interventions can drive meaningful business outcomes.
  • Partner cross-functionally with People Business Partners, Talent, and business leaders to ensure leadership programming is integrated with and reinforces broader People initiatives.

What you should have

  • 9+ years of progressive experience in leadership development, organizational effectiveness, or executive coaching, with at least 3 years supporting senior leaders
  • Demonstrated experience coaching and developing senior leaders, with the ability to hold the room and challenge leaders at high levels
  • Proven experience inheriting, scaling, and evolving existing leadership programs — you know how to assess what's working, build on strong foundations, and elevate program impact without starting over
  • Track record of designing and facilitating curriculum within an established leadership framework, adapting company-specific competencies into practical learning experiences
  • Strong understanding of the broader HR/People ecosystem (HRBPs, Talent, Total Rewards, etc.) with prior experience sitting within a People/HR organization
  • Experience with or strong aptitude for integrating AI tools and platforms into leadership development and enablement programs
  • Exceptional communication and executive presence — comfortable presenting to and influencing senior stakeholders

Bonus points

  • Active ICF coaching certification (ACC, PCC, or MCC) or equivalent executive coaching credential
  • Familiarity with Insights Discovery or other leadership assessment tools (e.g., Hogan, DISC, Korn Ferry Leadership Architect)
  • Background in organizational psychology, adult learning theory, or a related field
  • Experience at a high-growth technology company navigating rapid organizational scaling

If you don't think you meet all of the criteria but are still interested in the job, please apply. We'd love to hear from you.

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
