Senior Financial Analyst, Business Partnership

San Francisco Bay Area

Discord is used by over 200 million people every month for many different reasons, but there’s one thing that nearly everyone does on our platform: play video games. Over 90% of our users play games, spending a combined 1.5 billion hours playing thousands of unique titles on Discord each month. Discord plays a uniquely important role in the future of gaming. We are focused on making it easier and more fun for people to talk and hang out before, during, and after playing games.

We’re looking for a passionate and experienced Senior Financial Analyst to join our growing Finance & Strategy team. The Finance organization at Discord is responsible for planning, forecasting, and strategic analysis. Senior leaders across the business rely on us as trusted advisors to develop actionable insights, steer headcount and investment decisions, and build scalable financial reporting solutions. Your analysis will be highly visible and will directly inform executive decision-making.

This is a role built for someone who can go deep and flex broadly. You’ll partner with leaders across GTM and G&A functions, acting as a powerhouse across the broader Finance & Strategy team. As a thought partner to functional leaders, you’ll help steward Discord’s resource investments to improve the durability of our long-term financial performance, establishing coordination and communication across business teams such as Finance, Accounting & Talent. In return, you’ll gain autonomy, deep interaction with business partners, and the opportunity to impact a rapidly growing business.

What you'll be doing

  • Serve as an embedded finance partner to partner orgs, navigating annual planning, quarterly forecasting, and real-time execution
  • Flex across the Finance & Strategy team as a versatile utility player, supporting high-priority workstreams as needs evolve
  • Establish financial planning processes for headcount planning, expense forecasting, and resource allocation
  • Design analytical rigor to measure the efficiency and ROI of investments in headcount and non-headcount spend
  • Collaborate with business partners to design and develop metrics, reports, analyses, and dashboards that drive key planning decisions
  • Identify opportunities to enhance, automate, and scale our forecasting and reporting tools and processes, with an AI-native approach
  • Translate complex financial data into clear narratives for senior level audiences

What you should have

  • 5+ years of related experience (e.g., FP&A, strategic finance, or management consulting)
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to use data to drive decision-making, with demonstrated proficiency communicating analysis clearly
  • A track record of building relationships and partnering across all levels and teams
  • Comfort with ambiguity, shifting priorities, and competing objectives in a fast-paced environment
  • A versatile, roll-up-your-sleeves mindset — equally comfortable owning a domain end to end and parachuting into new problems
  • High-level understanding of financial planning and accounting concepts
  • Proficiency in Excel and financial modeling; experience working with large data sets, SQL, and Looker is a plus

Candidates must reside in or be willing to relocate to the San Francisco Bay Area (Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano, and Sonoma counties). Relocation assistance may be available.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
