Web Development Intern

Columbia, Missouri | Part-Time Internship

FULL-STACK WEB DEVELOPMENT INTERN POSITION: We are seeking a candidate with a unique blend of technical skill and creativity to thrive in our fast-paced environment. Rather than working on a single website, our Full-Stack Web Development Intern works across multiple live products spanning several of our business lines — including residential leasing, entertainment and events, and tourism — as well as internal tools and a new application we are actively developing. You'll design, build, and modify real, production websites used by real customers every day.

FULL-STACK WEB DEVELOPMENT INTERN — RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Build and modify responsive front-end features and pages as specified by the design team
  • Design and implement APIs, and integrate third-party services (payments, booking, email marketing, and more) across our products
  • Develop and maintain dynamic, interactive web applications across the full stack
  • Update and ship requested changes to live sites, including pages, content, and images
  • Test, debug, and continuously improve the design, performance, and functionality of our sites
  • Write clear documentation for the features and systems you build
  • Collaborate with designers and owners to turn ideas into working products
  • Help maintain quality and consistency across all our web properties
  • Build and integrate AI-powered features using large language model APIs (e.g. retrieval-augmented generation / RAG, smart search, automation)

FULL-STACK WEB DEVELOPMENT INTERN — QUALIFICATIONS:

  • REQUIRED: Must currently reside in the Columbia, Missouri area — this position is onsite.
  • Working knowledge of JavaScript/React, Python/FastAPI, and SQL
  • Experience using Git
  • Hands-on experience building dynamic, interactive web applications
  • Ability to write clean, efficient, well-documented code with a focus on quality and maintainability
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills, with the ability to analyze unfamiliar code and find practical, innovative solutions independently
  • Comfortable taking a feature or project from requirements through to delivery, with clear specifications and documentation
  • Experience with (or eagerness to learn) AWS products such as EC2 and RDS
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (e.g. GitHub Actions) for automated testing and deployment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work seamlessly with both technical and non-technical teammates and contribute to the team's growth
  • Preferred: exposure to AI/LLM tools and APIs (e.g. the Claude or OpenAI APIs, RAG, vector databases)
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.
