Web Development Intern
FULL-STACK WEB DEVELOPMENT INTERN POSITION: We are seeking a candidate with a unique blend of technical skill and creativity to thrive in our fast-paced environment. Rather than working on a single website, our Full-Stack Web Development Intern works across multiple live products spanning several of our business lines — including residential leasing, entertainment and events, and tourism — as well as internal tools and a new application we are actively developing. You'll design, build, and modify real, production websites used by real customers every day.
FULL-STACK WEB DEVELOPMENT INTERN — RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Build and modify responsive front-end features and pages as specified by the design team
- Design and implement APIs, and integrate third-party services (payments, booking, email marketing, and more) across our products
- Develop and maintain dynamic, interactive web applications across the full stack
- Update and ship requested changes to live sites, including pages, content, and images
- Test, debug, and continuously improve the design, performance, and functionality of our sites
- Write clear documentation for the features and systems you build
- Collaborate with designers and owners to turn ideas into working products
- Help maintain quality and consistency across all our web properties
- Build and integrate AI-powered features using large language model APIs (e.g. retrieval-augmented generation / RAG, smart search, automation)
FULL-STACK WEB DEVELOPMENT INTERN — QUALIFICATIONS:
- REQUIRED: Must currently reside in the Columbia, Missouri area — this position is onsite.
- Working knowledge of JavaScript/React, Python/FastAPI, and SQL
- Experience using Git
- Hands-on experience building dynamic, interactive web applications
- Ability to write clean, efficient, well-documented code with a focus on quality and maintainability
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills, with the ability to analyze unfamiliar code and find practical, innovative solutions independently
- Comfortable taking a feature or project from requirements through to delivery, with clear specifications and documentation
- Experience with (or eagerness to learn) AWS products such as EC2 and RDS
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (e.g. GitHub Actions) for automated testing and deployment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work seamlessly with both technical and non-technical teammates and contribute to the team's growth
- Preferred: exposure to AI/LLM tools and APIs (e.g. the Claude or OpenAI APIs, RAG, vector databases)
- Authorized to work in the U.S.
