Position:

Join our dynamic team at Discovery Cube Orange County as a Custodian/General Maintenance Associate. In this vital role, you will ensure our facility remains clean, safe, and inviting for guests and staff alike. Your support in maintaining exhibits and performing minor repairs will help create a memorable experience for visitors of all ages. If you are proactive, detail-oriented, and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

Custodial (70%)

• Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment throughout the facility. Wiping, sweeping, mopping, restroom cleaning.
• Restock supplies, materials, and equipment as needed.
• Perform general maintenance on custodial equipment to ensure proper operation.
• Follow all safety protocols when handling chemicals and equipment.
• Exhibit a friendly and professional demeanor toward guests and internal staff.

Facility Maintenance (25%)

• Assist with the installation of temporary and permanent exhibits.

Support the upkeep of the facility by making minor repairs

• Respond promptly to Facility issues.

Projects (5%)

• Support additional projects assigned by management.
• Attend and assist with internal department functions and events as needed.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge or certification in custodial or related fields.
• Custodial experience required; experience in or museum industry is a plus.
• Knowledge of safety procedures, especially related to chemicals and equipment.
• Proactive, motivated, and driven with a strong attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 60 lbs. and perform physical tasks including standing, walking, stooping, and reaching.
• Ability to adapt to high-volume, high-stress situations and work well within a team.

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

• Primarily indoors and outdoors on the Discovery Cube campus.
• Spend approximately 90% of the time standing, walking, or moving around the facility.
• Use hands frequently to grasp and handle objects.
• Work may involve exposure to various environmental conditions and require physical exertion
