Senior .NET Integration Engineer

DistantJob is looking for a Senior .NET Integration Engineer to join one of our clients, a fintech company whose platform automates accounts payable, payments and financial operations for investment firms, family offices and fund administrators. Their customers rely on the platform to connect with the accounting systems they already use, so the integration layer is central to the product.

The role

You'll design, build and own the integrations that link the platform to ERP and accounting systems such as NetSuite, QuickBooks, Sage and Microsoft Dynamics. You'll work closely with a Staff Engineer and take real ownership, from scoping through production. You'll spend your time on:

• Building and improving REST and SOAP integrations that hold up against messy real-world customer setups
• Designing sync, mapping, validation and reconciliation workflows that keep data accurate between systems
• Handling partial failures, retries and eventual consistency, with idempotency and audit trails built in
• Improving performance and reliability, adding logging and alerting, and finding the root cause when an integration breaks
• Working with the onboarding and support teams to get customers connected and live
• Contributing to code reviews, documentation and engineering standards

This team is also actively adopting AI-assisted development with tools like Cursor, Claude Code and GitHub Copilot, so you'll have room to work that way.

What we're looking for

• 5+ years of software engineering with production systems
• Strong C# and .NET, including backend services and APIs
• Proven experience integrating with ERP, accounting or financial systems
• Solid knowledge of REST and SOAP, including authentication, error handling, retries and versioning
• Experience with data synchronization, transformation and reconciliation
• Strong SQL Server skills: query design, optimization and data modeling
• Experience with event-driven or message-based architectures
• Independence and clear communication with both engineers and non-technical stakeholders

Bonus points for:

• Hands-on NetSuite, QuickBooks, Sage or Dynamics integration work
• A background in fintech, payments, AP or fund administration
• Azure experience (Service Bus, Functions, API Management)
• SFTP, EDI or file-based integration patterns
• Python for scripting and tooling
• Multi-tenant SaaS experience
• Observability practices such as structured logging and tracing
• Daily use of AI coding tools

• Location: Fully remote
• Schedule: US business hours, Central time preferred but can work in Eastern time
• Type: Full-time and long-term
• Time off: 10 paid vacation days and 8 paid national holidays per year
