About the position

Ditto aims to expand the internet beyond traditional reach. Our groundbreaking software empowers devices to synchronize data in real-time, using cutting-edge, peer-to-peer database technology that runs on mobile, web, IoT, and server systems, automatically syncing data changes. 

Help us ignite the future of data synchronization as a Site Reliability Engineer at Ditto! We are seeking a passionate Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to help us automate deployments.

The ideal candidate has professional experience with Kubernetes and cloud-native architectures. Do you know the tradeoffs with StatefulSets? Interested in writing an Operator? Dream about automation?

You will be a part of our SRE team, working with all of engineering on building new services, automating infrastructure lifecycle on Kubernetes, and monitoring our services with the goal of offering a reliable, scalable and high-performance database.

As a Site Reliability Engineer you will:

  • Build & design Ditto’s cloud infrastructure with reliability and performance in mind.
  • Build tools & services to allow automated infrastructure management and self-healing, including deployments and upgrades.
  • Support the end-to-end monitoring of our Cloud deployments. Layer observability into our Kubernetes operators. 
  • Prioritize what metrics to collect, drive analysis of those metrics, and influence our roadmap based on that analysis.
  • Participate in on-call rotations, working to keep customer workloads running and incident free.
  • Advocate proper devops practices across software engineering teams.

What you'll need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in a Site Reliability Engineering or DevOps role.
  • Strong understanding of system architecture, design patterns, and performance tuning.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash) and configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Passion for automation and efficiency.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to changing environments.
