Purpose

Divergent Technologies seeks a dynamic Sustainment Portfolio Director. This role requires a blend of technical leadership, business development, innovation management, and strategic oversight. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in military and commercial aviation MRO, advanced manufacturing technologies, and defense acquisition, coupled with a strong engineering background and executive communication skills.

The Role

  • Technical Leadership: Provide high-level technical guidance and direction on MRO projects, leveraging expertise in aviation sustainment and advanced manufacturing technologies, with a focus on military applications.
  • Innovation Management: Lead innovation initiatives to integrate advanced technologies into MRO solutions, driving continuous improvement and technological advancements. Oversee the development and implementation of new manufacturing techniques and solutions.
  • Technology Road mapping: Develop and execute comprehensive technology roadmaps that align Divergent’s manufacturing capabilities with strategic goals in aviation MRO. Ensure that technological advancements are incorporated effectively.
  • Enterprise-Level Technical Steering: Lead enterprise-level technical initiatives and steering efforts. Drive alignment between technical strategies and business objectives, ensuring strategic objectives are met.
  • Advanced Manufacturing Insight: Apply expertise in additive manufacturing and digital manufacturing systems to enhance MRO practices and drive innovation. Stay current with advancements in manufacturing technologies and their application in the aviation sector.
  • Defense Acquisition Insight: Navigate and influence defense acquisition processes, ensuring Divergent’s solutions meet military requirements and adhere to defense standards. Manage and execute government and defense contracts, ensuring compliance and regulatory adherence.
  • Strategic Partnerships and Business Development: Build and manage strategic partnerships and alliances with industry leaders, defense contractors, and government entities. Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the military and commercial aviation MRO sectors.
  • Data Analytics: Utilize data-driven insights to optimize MRO processes and performance. Leverage analytics to drive decision-making and improve operational efficiency.
  • Cross-Functional Team Leadership: Lead and integrate cross-functional teams, including engineering, business development, and operations. Foster collaboration among diverse team members to achieve strategic goals.
  • Executive Communication: Communicate complex technical concepts and strategic objectives effectively to stakeholders at all levels, including blue-collar, white-collar, and C-suite personnel. Present technical and strategic recommendations clearly and persuasively.
  • Thought Leadership: Contribute to industry thought leadership through participation in forums, publication of papers, and speaking engagements. Demonstrate visionary thinking and influence in the field of aviation MRO and advanced manufacturing.

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years in aerospace and defense with significant experience in sustainment.
  • Engineering Background: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, or related field).
  • Leadership: Extensive experience in enterprise-level technical leadership, with a proven track record of guiding complex technical initiatives.
  • Defense Contracting: Experience managing government and defense contracts and navigating compliance and regulatory requirements.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at various levels.
  • Security Clearance: Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced Degree: Master’s degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Professional Certifications: Professional engineering credentials or certifications as well as flight test and airworthiness experience.
  • Advanced Manufacturing Expertise: Proven experience with additive manufacturing and digital manufacturing systems.
  • Technology Roadmapping: Experience in developing and executing technology roadmaps to align technological advancements with strategic business goals.
  • Strategic Partnerships: Demonstrated success in forming and managing strategic partnerships with industry leaders and government entities.
  • Data Analytics: Proficiency in using data analytics to drive decision-making and optimize processes.
  • Executive Presence: Strong executive communication skills, able to present technical and strategic concepts to senior leadership and influence decision-making.
  • Innovation and Strategy: Experience in driving innovation and managing strategic initiatives at the enterprise level.
  • Security Clearance: Top Secret Clearance

Work Environment

  • Location: Remote with potential travel for meetings, site visits, and industry events.

Pay Range

$211,530 - $290,895 USD
