Senior/Principal Software Engineer, PLM Development

Purpose

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior/Principal Software Engineer to join our Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) development team. In this role, you will leverage your extensive expertise in Siemens Teamcenter and other relevant PLM technologies to develop, customize, and integrate PLM solutions that support the full lifecycle of our products. You will play a critical role in enhancing and maintaining our PLM system, ensuring it meets complex business requirements and delivers value to our engineering design and manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering design and manufacturing, and significant experience in developing and implementing PLM solutions.

The Role

  • Develop, customize, and enhance Siemens Teamcenter PLM solutions to meet business needs.
  • Design and implement PLM workflows, data models, and integrations with other enterprise systems.
  • Ensure the scalability, performance, and reliability of PLM applications.
  • Serve as the technical expert on Siemens Teamcenter, providing guidance and support to other team members.
  • Develop and maintain PLM-related software using programming languages such as Java, C++, ITK, and PLMXML.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to PLM applications and integrations.
  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) from requirements gathering and design to implementation, testing, and deployment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including PLM support engineers, system administrators, and QA engineers, to deliver high-quality PLM solutions.
  • Contribute to project planning, estimation, and risk management activities.
  • Identify opportunities to improve PLM processes, tools, and methodologies.
  • Stay current with emerging PLM technologies and industry trends and incorporate best practices into development activities.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior developers and other team members.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, user guides, and training materials.
  • Conduct training sessions and knowledge transfer activities for end-users and other stakeholders.
  • Work closely with product management, engineering, and customer success teams to gather requirements, feedback, identify areas for improvement, and prioritize features.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by providing proactive support and addressing user issues promptly.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
  • Implement best practices for PLM support and development, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Continuously evaluate and adopt new technologies and methodologies to stay ahead in the PLM domain.
  • Develop and maintain software development best practices to ensure high-quality code, efficient testing, documentation, and timely releases.

Basic Qualifications

  • Ability to lawfully access information and technology that is subject to US export controls.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, mathematics, computational science, engineering, information technology, or related fields.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in PLM development, with a focus on Siemens NX and Teamcenter integration.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing PLM solutions in an engineering design and manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in Siemens Teamcenter, including Active Workspace configurations, customization, integration, upgrades, and patches.
  • Familiar with TC 4-Tier and 2-Tier environments.  
  • Familiar with detailed understanding of NX lifecycle of parts, modelling techniques, and best practices.
  • Familiar with Teamcenter SOA and NXOpen toolkits.  
  • Strong knowledge of programming languages such as Java, C++, ITK, and PLMXML.
  • Familiarity with database management (SQL) and server management (Linux/Windows).
  • Understanding of software development processes and best practices, software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including product management, engineering, and customer success.
  • Familiarity with computer-aided design (CAD) software and formats commonly used in engineering, such as NX, SolidWorks, CATIA, and STEP.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and solve complex technical issues.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong background in engineering design and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with other PLM technologies such as PTC Windchill, Dassault Systèmes ENOVIA, or Autodesk Vault is a plus.
  • Familiarity with network configurations.

Compensation

At Divergent, our pay range is based on the level of the job. For this role, we will consider candidates at levels E05 - E07 as evaluated through our interview process. 

  • Senior / E05: $134,640 - $185,130
  • Lead / E06: $155,540 - $213,840
  • Principal / E07: $179,630 - $247,005
