
Lead Business Development & Program Manager

Purpose
Seeking a commercially and technically capable individual to lead the growth of Divergent Technologies Inc. (DTI) automotive portfolio. Responsible for identifying and capturing customer programs, from initial interaction through to a clearly defined target set that delivers a balanced, profitable program.
The Role
- Create the business development strategy for the DTI Automotive portfolio in line with the overall Divergent strategy, and execute.
- Responsible for building exceptional relationships with desirable brands in the luxury and performance automotive sectors, globally.
- Lead capture campaigns focused on expanding Divergent’s digital adaptive production system (DAPS™) capabilities.
- Own the automotive CRM Funnel from initial engagement (capture) through to a feasible, balanced and profitable program before handover to the execution branch of the program management team.
- Identify and win new programs by crafting compelling proposals and leveraging a thorough understanding of customer needs and competitive positioning.
- Coordinate with business strategy, contracts, program, manufacturing, and technical stakeholders across DTI to ensure the successful development of profitable, feasible programs.
- Directly interface with DAPS Technology team to synchronize the technology development roadmap with the capture campaign.
- Contribute to Divergent’s broader strategy by being the automotive commercial SME, identifying trends, market shifts, and emerging opportunities to inform company direction.
- Effectively articulate Divergent’s technology advantages to potential customers and stakeholders, translating technical capabilities into customer-specific value propositions, briefings, and other relevant content.
- For new programs, collaborate across technical teams and customer teams to ensure requirements are clear, sensible, and achievable to cost, time and performance constraints before handover to the execution team.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address customer challenges and maintain program excellence.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field (advanced degrees preferred).
- 10+ years of experience in advanced technology manufacturing [Automotive/Aerospace & Defense], with a mix of technical engineering, program management, and business development/strategy roles.
- Deep knowledge of OEM sourcing processes, including key stakeholders and competitive landscapes.
- Proven ability to deliver on complex technical programs and manage relationships with senior-level stakeholders.
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills, capable of driving alignment across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated success in securing new business and executing large-scale programs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Masters in Business Administration or related field is preferred.
- Experience in advanced manufacturing.
- Existing network within the automotive industry.
- Knowledge of additive manufacturing, advanced materials, or related disruptive technologies.
Compensation
At Divergent, our pay range is based on the level of the job. For this role, we will consider candidates at levels S06 - S07 as evaluated through our interview process.
- Lead / S06: $127,260- $174,960
- Principal / S07: $146,970 - $202,095
