
Senior C++ Software Engineer

Purpose

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will lead the development of the machine control systems that power our next-generation manufacturing platform. This is a high-impact role where your technical experience will directly influence system performance, reliability, and the future direction of our software stack.
The Role
- Lead the architecture and development of real-time machine control systems for advanced 3D metal printing platforms
- Own and evolve the software stack for machine orchestration, including motion control, system coordination, and performance optimization
- Design and drive development of scalable, high-performance GUIs for operator control and system observability
- Architect and build high-fidelity simulation frameworks for system validation, predictive modeling, and performance tuning
- Define and implement calibration strategies, diagnostics, and automated maintenance systems to ensure precision and uptime at scale
- Partner cross-functionally with mechanical, electrical, and systems engineering leaders to drive full-stack mechatronic integration
- Set technical direction, coding standards, and best practices for real-time and systems-level software development
- Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership across projects, influencing design decisions and long-term architecture
- Drive initiatives that improve system robustness, scalability, and developer productivity
Basic Qualifications
- Ability to lawfully access information and technology subject to U.S. export controls
- Expert-level proficiency in modern C++ (C++11 or later), including multithreading, concurrency, and performance optimization
- Proven experience building complex, real-time or distributed systems
- Strong experience with Git-based workflows and modern build systems (e.g., CMake)
- Demonstrated ability to own systems end-to-end, from design through deployment and iteration
Preferred Qualifications
- Deep experience with real-time systems, control systems, or robotics software
- Strong background in industrial automation, motion control, or mechatronics integration
- Experience developing GUIs with Qt or similar frameworks
- Familiarity with computer vision (e.g., OpenCV) and sensor integration
- Proficiency in Python for automation, tooling, or rapid prototyping
- Working knowledge of Digital Signal Processing (DSP)
- Experience with modeling and simulation tools (MATLAB, Simulink, Simscape)
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and scalable development workflows (e.g., GitHub Actions)
- Track record of technical leadership, mentorship, and influencing engineering direction

Pay Range
$134,640 - $185,130 USD
