Loan Officer
The Loan Processor supports multiple loan officers that specialize in anything from a simple unsecured loan, to a complex commercial real estate loan, and everything in between. To help loan operations provide reliable, consistent service to the customers, the loan processor: responds to emails and phone calls, helps loan officers stay in compliance, prepare and interpret financial documents, and work well under pressure and deadlines. The Loan Closer is responsible for all aspects of the closing process and ensures all terms of the loan are met. The Loan Closer works directly with processing, sales and management to effectively communicate the status of loan closings between title and company.
What you have already achieved: (Requirements)
- 2+ years of experience in a lending atmosphere with specific knowledge of loan operations/servicing duties and a basic understanding of underwriting guidelines
- Experience with data entry and Microsoft Office products, LaserPro LOS, Finastra Phoenix Core and ECM imaging
- A precise attention to details
- The motivation to learn and constantly improve skills, processes and tools
- The people skills required to work with all different types personalities from various backgrounds
- Good judgment and the ability to keep information confidential
- The ability to work with little to no supervision
What you are great at: (Responsibilities)
- Process an application and verify accuracy of information supplied.
- Explain disclosures and loan processes to the borrower.
- Order credit report, flood determination, appraisal, background reports, survey and title insurance.
- Review appraisals and title insurance received for issues or concerns.
- Prepare loan closing documents and send them to the title company.
- Fund loans and disburse funds.
- Answer customer questions in a timely manner in-person, by phone, email, fax or mail.
- Conduct inspections on various types of collateral including real estate, equipment and motor vehicles.
- Coordinate with loan officer, borrower, realtor and title company to schedule loan closings.
- Perform compliance check to ensure appropriate documentation, liens perfected and file maintenance completed.
- Balance closing statements with loan evaluations to 'balance' the statement with the lender's figures.
- Coordinate closings with title companies.
- Ensure the quality and accuracy of loan level closing and funding data.
- Manage and organize all files and documents related to loan closings.
- Manage receipt, review and mark-up of title commitments. Correct errors with team members or third parties, if applicable.
- Review construction draw requests, order inspection, ensure proper documentation of files for each draw.
- Spread financials within the system for business, trust, personal and properties to ensure qualification of borrower/guarantor.
- Produce preliminary term sheets for clients based on loan request, available collateral, and product guidelines.
- Send an annual review request with documentation needed to complete the annual review.
- Work with attorneys to prepare loan documentation, ensure the attorney has all required information of the transaction to ensure best enforceability of loan and bank protection.
- Check valuation for loan officers on their requests for loans in the branches.
- Field client calls on transaction, closing procedures, loan updates.
