Portfolio Manager
DLP Bank is seeking a highly analytical and relationship focused Portfolio Manager to support the management and performance of the bank’s commercial real estate and Commercial and Industrial loan portfolio. This role is responsible for monitoring loans after closing, analyzing performance of Borrower/Collateral and assessing risk, managing collection efforts and managing troubled loans, leading evaluations and documentation of renewals and amendments, supporting borrowers and managing the relationships, and ensuring the overall health and performance of the portfolio.
The Portfolio Manager will work closely with the originations, underwriting, and credit, to proactively manage loans across their lifecycle. This includes reviewing borrower performance, tracking collateral and market conditions, identifying potential risks, and supporting strategic decisions that maximize portfolio performance.
This role requires strong financial analysis, commercial real estate knowledge, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
What you have already achieved: (Requirements)
- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, real estate, business, or a related field.
- 5+ years experience in bank lending, private credit, CRE lending, credit analysis, or portfolio management.
- Strong understanding of financial modeling and underwriting.
- Knowledge of loan covenants, credit risk monitoring and portfolio reporting preferred.
- Experience analyzing bridge loans, construction loans, or transitional real estate assets preferred.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
What you are great at: (Responsibilities)
- Manage and monitor a portfolio of commercial loans including bridge, construction, and stabilized real estate loans, as well as commercial loans to operating businesses.
- Analyze borrower financial statements, property performance, rent rolls, and operating statements.
- Analyze individual financial statement and tax returns and evaluate global cash flow coverage.
- Track loan covenants, and performance metrics to ensure compliance.
Identify potential credit risks early and work with internal teams on mitigation strategies. - Conduct ongoing financial analysis and stress testing of loans and collateral.
- Evaluate property performance against underwriting assumptions.
- Prepare portfolio reports and summaries for senior leadership and credit committees.
- Monitor market trends that could impact borrower performance or collateral value.
- Serve as a key point of contact for borrowers after loan closing.
- Maintain ongoing communication regarding performance, reporting requirements, and loan compliance.
- Work with borrowers on potential loan modifications, extensions, or restructures when needed.
- Support new loan structuring by providing insights from portfolio performance trends.
- Assist with loan workouts or special situations when necessary.
- Maintain accurate loan files, risk ratings, and portfolio tracking systems.
- Prepare internal reporting on portfolio performance, risk exposure, and concentration limits.
- Ensure compliance with bank credit policies and regulatory requirements.
