We have an opening for an Electrical Engineer/Designer. This role can be based in the following cities:
- Denver, CO
- Phoenix, AZ
Position Summary
As an Electrical Engineer/Designer at DLR Group,, you will play an integral role in the design and delivery of innovative electrical systems. You’ll contribute to the full project lifecycle, from developing schematics to preparing detailed design calculations and construction documents, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and technical excellence. In this role, you will support construction administration activities and collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including architects and engineers, to create integrated, high-performing design solutions.
The successful candidate will:
- Assist in developing project objectives, goals, and documentation policies.
- Develop electrical designs from concept through completion of construction.
- Prepare engineering design calculations and layouts.
- Prepare detailed engineering reports and narratives.
- Coordinate electrical design requirements with other disciplines and project stakeholders of renewable energy projects.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree (ABET accredited) in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous internship, co-op experience, or full-time position with a consulting engineering or A/E firm.
- Passed Fundamentals of Engineering Exam.
- Experience with BIM (e.g. Autodesk Revit MEP) workflow.
- Interest in renewable energy design, including photovoltaic (PV) systems, battery energy storage systems (BESS), EV charging stations, solar canopies, microgrids, and specialty energy systems.
- Lighting and/or low voltage design experience.
Emerging Professional Experience (EPX)
As an Emerging Professional at DLR Group, you will be a part of our EPX program. The EPX program provides diverse perspectives on the needs of a design enterprise and the possibilities for experiences and growth within the design profession. The goal is to provide a strong foundation to build your career on and explore opportunities within the AEC industry. The program is composed of three major components: mentorship, work, and weekly classes. These classes include EP-specific onboarding, design culture, marketing and BD, sustainability, design technology, communication style education, mentoring, resource and project management, construction site opportunities, research, equity, design agency, and career next steps. You will hear from some of our top executives and integrated designers during this time!

The suggested pay range for this position is:
Pay Range
$76,000 - $90,000 USD
