Corporate & Internal Communications Manager

JOB PURPOSE:
This newly created position plays a pivotal role in supporting the development and execution of dmg events’ corporate and internal communications strategies. The role will shape the brand narrative and voice of dmg events globally while ensuring transparent, timely, and culturally resonant internal communications across all business units. It will require close collaboration with senior leadership, divisional and event teams, and corporate functions to ensure consistency, alignment, and impact across all communication platforms and channels.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
A. Corporate Communications (External-Facing)
Responsible for driving a consistent dmg events brand narrative across all corporate platforms, supporting the company’s vision to be a trusted global platform for knowledge exchange, collaboration, and industry transformation.
• Lead the strategic planning and execution of dmg events' corporate communications, aligning with business priorities and strategic growth objectives.
• Manage and continuously improve the dmg events corporate website and social media presence to reflect the company’s vision, news, events, and leadership activity.
• Collaborate with divisional and event communications teams to ensure consistent, aligned content across all platforms and channels.
• Ensure that all communications reflect dmg events’ tone of voice, values, and strategic direction.
• Write, edit, and publish impactful content across digital, print, and live channels – including announcements, newsletters, social media, and web.
• Develop and implement targeted media strategies to increase global visibility and reinforce dmg events’ reputation as a leading events business.
• Support the creation and dissemination of messaging related to DEI, sustainability, and other corporate initiatives, ensuring alignment with business priorities.
• Contribute to crisis communications planning and serve as a key contact point for external communication during sensitive situations.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key media outlets, journalists and industry publications to proactively secure coverage and manage public relations opportunities.
• Develop KPIs and reporting frameworks to measure the effectiveness of communication strategies and campaigns, using tools such as engagement analytics, surveys, and media coverage reports.
B. Internal Communications (Employee-Facing)
• Champion a culture of transparency, alignment, and engagement through effective internal communications that connect dmg events’ global teams to its mission and shared values.
• Design and implement a global internal communications plan that strengthens employee understanding of the company’s strategic direction and evolving priorities.
• Coordinate with the HR team to communicate key initiatives related to culture, DEI, talent development, and organisational change.
• Ensure consistent and regular flow of internal updates, including newsletters, announcements, and leadership messages.
• Act as the internal voice of the organisation, ensuring all employees – across regions and teams – feel connected and informed.
• Support internal engagement campaigns and initiatives that foster collaboration and pride across the company.
• Facilitate employee participation in key corporate campaigns through inclusive communication strategies.
• Support the planning and delivery of internal events and townhalls, ensuring clarity of purpose and cohesion in messaging.
• Monitor internal feedback and communication effectiveness, suggesting improvements to enhance reach and engagement.
C: Other Comms Areas:
• Own and manage key communications tools and platforms such as intranet, internal email platforms, social media schedulers and analytics tools
• Provide strategic communications support to senior leadership, including talking points, speeches, presentations and executive LinkedIn content.
• Stay informed about trends in corporate communications, employee engagement and media relations to bring innovative practices to dmg events.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:
Key requirements for the role
• Significant experience in the communications field, preferably in the events industry.
• Proven track record in both corporate and internal communications, preferably within the events, media, or related industries.
• Demonstrated experience in managing content strategy, digital platforms, and social media channels.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills with the ability to tailor content for diverse audiences.
• Confident working with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams globally.
• Experience in building and executing communication plans across multiple channels and formats.
• Strong understanding of brand and reputation management.
• A passion for DEI, sustainability, and organisational culture building.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
• Willingness to travel internationally to attend events and connect with teams.
