Senior Marketing Executive

JOB PURPOSE:
We’re looking for a commercially-minded, results-driven Senior Marketing Manager to take the lead on high-impact marketing campaigns for international trade exhibitions and conferences in the energy sector. This is more than a delivery role - we want someone who is genuinely curious, challenges the status quo, and is constantly looking for ways to improve how we work.
As the marketing lead for your allocated event(s), you’ll be responsible for developing and executing multi-channel strategies to attract sponsors, exhibitors, delegates, visitors, and media. You’ll use a mix of traditional and digital tools to build performance-driven campaigns and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams at a senior level.
The ideal candidate must demonstrate hands-on experience across the full marketing mix, comfort with campaign data and reporting, strong messaging instincts, and the ability to work across cultures. You’ll also lead and mentor a team of marketers to deliver complex, multi-vertical campaign plans on time and with impact.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Own and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy across exhibitor, delegate, visitor, and media audiences
• Create and implement tailored campaigns for audience acquisition, retention, and growth
• Develop and optimise lead generation plans and ensure alignment with sales and content goals.
• Forecast, manage, and report on marketing budget across all campaign activities
• Lead on data acquisition, segmentation, enrichment, and analysis to drive conversion and engagement.
• Collaborate with the in-house database team to ensure data accuracy and strategic targeting.
• Manage the event website (in partnership with 3rd party agency), overseeing SEO, analytics, and content updates and user journey optimisation.
• Plan and implement integrated digital marketing campaigns including programmatic, geo-targeting, retargeting, and paid media.
• Plan and implement integrated digital marketing campaigns across SEO, PPC (search and display), paid social, retargeting and geo-targeting,
• Oversee the development and production of all marketing collateral including brochures, post-show reports, print advertisements, web banners/emails, and video.
• Develop and execute a year-round media and PR strategy to elevate the event’s presence in key local and international trade publications.
• Line manage two direct reports, setting clear objectives, KPIs, and personal development plans.
• Build strong relationships with internal teams (sales, content, operations) and external agencies to ensure cross-functional alignment and delivery.
• Proven track record of using research and analysis to develop insight-driven marketing & communications programmes
• Lead partner and stakeholder advocacy strategies to amplify campaign reach and attract new business and new registrations.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:
Minimum Experience: 3+ years in mid manager level marketing, exhibition marketing is a must
Job-Specific Skills & Experience
• Strategy creation and critical path analysis
• Experience in the use of databases in both mass and targeted direct marketing campaigns
• Excellent copy writing skills, including proof reading and messaging
• Marketing Automation, Lead Generation and Lead Scoring
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with and relate to all levels both within and outside the organisation
• Excellent negotiation and relationship building skills
• Google Analytics, UTM tracking, and conversion optimisation
• CRM (Salesforce), ESP (Emarsys or equivalent), and marketing automation
• CMS and website UX coordination (WordPress, Umbraco, TYPO3 or similar)
