Publication Designer

JOB PURPOSE:
Energy Connects is looking for a Publication Designer with a strong work ethic and exceptional ability to work on simultaneous deadlines with meticulous attention to detail. Willing to go the extra mile and thrives in high-pressure environments, showing resilience under demanding workloads.
Reporting to the head of design you will be responsible for creating visually compelling layouts for print and digital publications such as Show magazines, event brochures, annual reports, and e-books. Combine typography, imagery, and design principles to communicate ideas clearly and attractively and ensure the look and feel is both engaging and aligned with brand guidelines.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Design layouts for magazines, brochures, reports, and digital publications.
• Collaborate with writers, editors, and marketing teams to align visuals with content goals.
• Select and edit images, illustrations, and typography to enhance readability and visual appeal.
• Manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines with precision.
• Ensure consistency with brand guidelines and maintain high design standards.
• Consistently deliver high-quality layouts under tight deadlines.
• Prepare files for print and digital distribution, ensuring technical accuracy.
• Stay updated on design trends and publishing technologies.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:
Education
Bachelor’s in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or related field
Experience
Minimum 3 years in publication or editorial design
Skills
• Strong understanding of typography, color theory, and visual hierarchy
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
• Expert in graphic design and layout composition
• Ability to interpret creative briefs and translate them into effective designs
• Excellent attention to detail and time management
• In-depth knowledge of publication workflows and strategies
• Ability to work across print and digital platforms
• Ability to work under pressure
• Willing to work long hours
Preferred candidates that have experience using AI-enhanced tools to automate design tasks.
Familiarity with platforms like Adobe Sensei, Canva Magic Studio, is a plus.
