Senior Fullstack Software Engineer - Booking Management System (x/f/m)

Berlin, Berlin, Germany

What we do

Doctolib's unprecedented growth in the last 10 years was made possible thanks to pragmatism and avoiding premature optimisation at any cost. In order to keep scaling, performance has now become a first-class priority and we sometimes must rethink how key features are architectured. Our team has spent months instrumenting the code base and already improved some of our most important user flows. We've also been focusing on re-architecturing the core parts of our availability service. This not only gives us full liberty to choose the more appropriate architecture patterns, but also to choose the stack wisely.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you're going to be part of a Berlin-based international team focused on improving the performance, features and design of our core product for healthcare professionals, the BMS (Booking Management System).

What you’ll do

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Drive technical excellence by building scalable, secure, and performant features in our React/TypeScript frontend and Java/Ruby on Rails backend that serve millions of users daily
  • Champion quality and reliability through test-driven development, code reviews, and establishing best practices for our most complex projects
  • Take ownership of critical technical initiatives while mentoring team members and fostering a collaborative engineering culture
  • Partner with product teams to architect pragmatic solutions that balance user needs with technical constraints
  • Lead by example in maintaining high security and reliability standards for our healthcare platform, ensuring zero downtime and data protection
  • Contribute to technical vision and architecture decisions that shape the future of healthcare technology
