ROLE SUMMARY:
The Retail Shopper Insights, Analytics & Category Manager will play a critical role in driving and identifying revenue growth for Dollar Shave Club by identifying brand opportunities, commercializing retail shopper insights and activating its omni-channel sales strategy. In this position, you will be responsible for brand-performance tracking and analytics, retail shopper insights, and retail category management. This is a highly visible and cross functional role across the organization. This role reports directly to the Director of Consumer Insights, with a dotted line to the VP of Sales.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Tracking DSC’s brand performance and competitive landscape; mining POS data, panel, innovation and other syndicated data for a 360-view of the marketplace
- Providing customer-centric, category-level guidance by leveraging trends and insights to uncover business opportunities which grow both category sales and our customers’ business
- Driving the brand’s growth by understanding and uncovering distribution and customer marketing opportunities
- Translating consumer insights into customer-facing and commercial growth opportunities, e.g. activating on the “club” idea on the retailer level
- Analytics lead for our DSC-Owned Customer Accounts leveraging each retailer’s individual data portals (Retail Link/Luminate, Target POL, Albertsons, etc.)
- POS tracking, inventory tracking, and forecasting
- Delivering Line Review insights and strategy in partnership with sale leaders
- Driving routine deliverables: monthly scorecard and weekly reporting for top customers
- Collaborating with the supply team for inventory monitoring; utilizing sales data to evaluate brand performance and to identify category opportunities
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in data, data science, or equivalent; MBA or other advanced degrees preferred
- 4+ years leveraging Walmart, Target and other retailer vendor data portals
- 4+ years working with syndicated data: IRI, Nielsen, Numerator, Kantar and other sources
- Experience in shopper insights or an equivalent field
- Strong proficiency in go-to-market strategies and translating insights into actionable next steps against business objectives
- Experience in connecting dots among various data sources for a cohesive story; data visualization
- Experience in a variety of methodologies, including qualitative (e.g. ethnography, consumer journeys, online consumer panels, job to be done, focus groups, in-depth-interviews) and quantitative (review analytics, idea testing, concept screening, path to purchase, etc.) research
- Experience managing relationships with third-party research agencies
- Outstanding written, visual, and verbal communication skills
- Strong influencing skills with leaders, cross-functional teams and suppliers
- Strong project ownership and management skills; an agile problem solver
- A strong growth mindset
POSITION TYPE:
This is a full-time exempt position.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This is a fully remote position.
SALARY:
$125,000-$135,000 + Bonus
